Beautiful decking around the pool with the cheapest tacky plastic furniture you could buy. Shower area by pool old, dirty and needs to be replaced. One end of the pool area in the back filled with trash. A hose is needed by the entrance to the hotel to rinse sand off your feet. Maybe have a set up for coffee in the morning.

The rooms have undergone a nice renovation. They were perfectly clean and modern. The exterior of the complex has yet to be renovated. It is disorganized and messy - as you might expect during the middle of a project. Because it is part of the Ice Palace complex, there are events scheduled throughout the day and night. That makes for a lot of fun, but there doesn't appear to be someone who oversees setups and take downs. It would be helpful to have someone overseeing the general operation and run a tighter ship. Nevertheless, the weekend was a lot of fun. We would return.

Enjoyed every minute of my Labor Day visit to Cherry Grove. Glad this hotel is here, as it was the best place I have ever stayed while visiting Cherry Grove over the years...just bring ear plugs if you go to bed early!

This was a beautiful place. I think they have done a great job with the room design. Our room had sandy floors as we walked in. Other than that, everything was perfect.

We enjoyed our 3 days at the Grove Hotel. Room was updated and bright, bed comfortable. We did not use housekeeping and just picked new towels up when needed. Pool was not completed yet but that was known. Front desk was quick and easy but they haven't finished redoing the lobby yet so its dated but I"m sure they'll update it like the rooms and halls. My only issue is that the areas around hotel need to be cleaned up since there always seems to be garbage off the boardwalks, not sure why Cherry Grove does not have more pride in keeping their community and homes more well kept and maintained for such an amazing place.

Great place to stay, the recent renovations made a world of difference. Will definitely stay here again!

The front desk staff and housekeeping were so nice and welcoming. This was my first time staying here and surely hope it won’t be my last. What I love about coming to Cherry Grove (overall) is the pleasantness of the residents and staff at all of the nearby businesses. This is why I prefer to come to Cherry Grove more than The Pines, ANYDAY! The people make you truly feel like you want to live her forever.

Good place to stay on Fire Island

I’ve stayed here before and now the rooms are nicer and updated, which is fantastic. Check in was smooth and we asked for a room on the other side and were accommodated immediately, and the room was ready before the check-in time; both of which are rare in Fire Island anywhere at the last minute so that was appreciated. Room was clean but missing a few things and had to change out some towels but they were corrected right away and I got fresh towels. We asked to have our room made up, and I think we must’ve been the last room to be made up because when we returned, Housekeeping logs, a broom and our garbage was still in there. It was very late so we just moved the stuff that didn’t belong, into the hallway and then slept. ***Pool is currently closed for renovations, not sure til when, but I’m excited to see it when it’s done. I loved that pool - it’s so BIG! This was an ok stay, but it IS convenient and has availability on an island where it’s near impossible get a place last minute, so I will for sure be back. Staff is great! Parties are great.

The rooms look brand new and bright , comfortable queen beds, The pool is closed for renovatin, i think they should do this off season, not in the summer and there should be outdoor showers so we can rinse out before walking in the room with the body full of sand . I would go back for sure, but i hope they fix these things .

The walls are so thin. No noise nuisance up to 4-6am is a bit difficult.

The property is in the process of upgrading. I got a renovated room which was both stylish and comfortable and surprisingly quiet by not being on the pool side. They were incredibly accommodating by allowing me to use a shower before my late departure. I was torn between a private host and here. I made the right choice. Thanks Rob!
