KOKO HOTEL Premier Kumamoto

Big size of room, Clean, good clean service.

Very cleaned and spacious room. My room could see Kumamoto Castle. Shopping mall right below and shopping street just opposite. Guest parking just across the street.

The KoKo Kumamoto is located inside the Sakura Machi shopping mall and located over the main bus terminal. The Kumamoto Castle Hall conference center is directly adjacent and the Kumamoto Castle complex is a short walk . The KoKo is very centrally located with a large variety of eating establishments close by, and particularly so in the adjacent shopping mall. The Koko Hotel itself is a bit oddly arranged. The reception is on the 14th floor. You can only access the guest rooms from the 14th floor. So if your room is on the 10th floor, you have to go up to the 14th and then down to the 10th. To get out of the hotel, you go from the 10th floor to the 14th floor. This can get a little bit tiresome if you are going in-and-out of your room frequently. That said, the facilities at the Koko are excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The daily housekeeping was efficient. Internet worked fine. The finishings were fine. I found the room to be a bit small for Kyushu. For example, a stand was provided for my suitcase but there was no floor space to use the stand. I would have expected this size room in Tokyo - but not in Kyushu. For your daily jog, the local city streets are adequate, though the wait time for signals is long. During my visit, there was frequent rain and I ran early morning loops in the adjacent parking garage, which was fine. The bus terminal is the first floor of the shopping center. I recommend using the bus to/from the airport.
