Artist hotel

Location was great, just a 5-10 minute walk to the centre. Parking is a bit chaotic, there is public parking are next to hotel, which is free but is also a lottery if you will find space. Or, there is gated parking option close by for about 5-6 cars to be booked for 8€ per day, which is reasonable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good, solid selection. The hotel itself is a small gallery of art, so I recommend just walking around. There is a sauna included for hotel guests, but I did not try it.

Rooms were lacking some minor details of comfort, ie. napkins would be nice to have. There is million lamps in rooms, but no common panel to control them, so when going to bed, you have one final walk around the room with possible search mission on which switch turns off what :) Biggest negative was somewhat odd smell in rooms. Mild smell of... something like sulphur. Couldn't find the source, asked to swap rooms, which was granted and staff was really kind and helpful. Second room was okay at first, but later on I smelled the same thing there too, but it was also kind of come & go. I am suspicious that this being Serbia, smoking was once allowed inside and it reeks around, even though the hotel is non-smoking. But just my wild guess, might be totally wrong.

Truly unusual. The art is staggering. The staff were exemplary (beyond expectations), and the packed breakfast was a joy. Thank you everyone there.

The originality and and uniqueness of the hotel. It really is an original concept and it is executed in a tremendous way. The hotel is is almost a museum in of itself, full of interesting artwork and allusions to the space's past as an asylum.
