We had a great stay but there were some things that were a miss here that could easily be fixed. We had a family of 8 and there wasn't the right kitchen tools to make some meals. The knives were dull, there was one small frying pan and one small pot. Made it hard to cook pasta or fry up eggs in the morning for that many poeple with the small pot and pan. In the living room, one of the lights wouldn't work and shocked us when we tried to turn it on and the other dimmed every time the heater turned on, so would have liked more light in the evening. The screen on the door to the porch fell off. Upstairs, in the room with the queen and two twins, the bottom sheet for the queen would not stay on the bed which was frustrating since the mattress was really old. It would be nice if that was updated. All small things that would be easily fixed. Great location and plenty of seating to enjoy the stay. We wished there was snow, but that is ok! We had a great time inspite of it.

My husband and I drove in from AZ to celebrate Christmas with our young adult kids who live in OC. Big Bear was the perfect location for us. The property was very clean. Our kids enjoyed the fooseball table and video games. I would recommend some updates as the decore, kitchen utensils, and some other amenities were outdated but at the same thing me it felt like we were visiting grandmas house.

This initial property we booked was very outdated and quite dirty. Property management was very helpful in moving us to another available cabin. We would stay with Meredith lodging again, just not at this particular property.

First, I get an early text notification that check in office closes at 6pm, fine, our party had to split up as to make it on time (our eta was 5:45pm), and they end up calling me at 4:46 pm that they'll be there until 7:30pm, which means we could have avoided separating if they had said that since the start. The property was really really dusty, like no one had been there for months and months. No guests AND no cleaning crew/upkeep/prep team. The balconies and patio were full of old, time accumulated dust, and cobwebs full of trapped dead bugs. We spent 1 hour cleaning the patio (had to if we wanted to bbq and hang out outside), and didn't even bother with the balconies (i came to relax, not clean). There were ant trails in the bathrooms. There was light brown water mark drips on the bathroom walls (old condensation, I HOPE). Big Bear summers are beginning to feel like L.A summers, HOT,- the bedrooms in this property reached easily 85-90 degrees well into the evening and only 1 fan was provided. We had to prioritize the baby traveling with us, therefore the rest of us endured nights of endless tossing and turning due to the trapped heat (upstairs bedrooms). Dont let the photos fool you, the 2nd story rooms have balconies with screen doors that provide zero relief in this heat. The property has great potential, it just needs more care and attention. Ps. Im not even a picky person, it was just really dusty and uncomfortably hot.

I rarely write bad reviews because I care more about the location and outdoor space than decorating but this was ridiculous! Broken chairs, unable to use the game station(couldn’t even turn it on) and football table- no ball! This was crushing to my kids! Didn’t mention on listing I would have to pick up key at an office… annoying.. Property management office was pleasant, came and fixed a bit of the DANGEROUSLY wobbly deck rails, couldn’t fix the game device , said they would call me to talk about a credit but no one did… don’t rent this with kids!!!

They do not clean this property well or maintain it in a good way. There was a damaged door that could not be opened from inside the room once fully closed. We had to sweep it when we came in, it needed better cleaning. Outdoor deck was un-usable because there was snow that was never removed so it just became hard ice and walking on that was a hazard.

We had a great time in this home. Everything worked properly and we had a great time.
