Hotel Ambasciatori

Location is very good, on a quiet road near the beach, but also near main shopping area. reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool. We didn't use the pool area but it looked a little congested. Our room was spacious with a good bed and shower. Decor possibly a little dated. The lobby area Bar and restaurant are all of good proportions

The breakfast while adequate fell a bit short of other 4 star hotels we have stayed in. While the reception staff were top class, the waiting staff at breakfast lacked personality with a couple of exceptions

Would you pay over €200 per night for a room overlooking a construction site, with construction noise starting at 7.30 in the morning? This was a major downside of our stay and seriously disturbed what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday. The room itself was a decent size and very clean, but rather dated, particularly the bathroom. The shower cabin was very small. Breakfast was another disappointment. The selection consisted mainly of sweet pastries, with no fresh fruit during our stay. An omelette was available only at an additional charge. Service at breakfast was also poor – the waiters seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to guests. The hotel's strongest point is undoubtedly its location. It is directly on the beach and has a pool area with sunbeds for hotel guests. You can relax by the pool and go down directly to the beach for a swim, which is very convenient. If you want a sunbeds with umbrella at the beach, it costs €20 per day. The hotel is also very close to the main pedestrian shopping street, around a 15-minute walk from the restaurants around the port, and approximately 30 minutes on foot from Castello Aragonese and the beautiful old part of Ischia. We particularly enjoyed that area, with its small squares, cafés and restaurants overlooking the bay and the castle. I would especially like to mention the gentleman at reception who appeared to be the manager. He was exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful, and gave us excellent advice and recommendations for our stay on Ischia. He was by far the highlight of the hotel's service and made a very positive difference to our experience.

I believe it is important for hotels to inform guests in advance about ongoing construction works, especially when these may cause significant noise. Providing this information before booking or arrival would allow guests to make an informed choice and avoid unnecessary disappointment. I would also suggest paying more attention to basic in-room amenities. Although there was a small fridge, it was completely empty, with no minibar, no complimentary drinking water and not even glasses provided. These may seem like small details, but they do affect the overall impression and guest experience.

The location was very good. However the best thing about this hotel is Fellipo who is on the front desk. He is fabulous and so helpful and gave us many options of things to do on the island and organised it all for us. He is the hotels best asset.

The bed was extremely hard and pillows very uncomfortable. When we arrived the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working, however they fixed it within a couple of days. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. You had to pay 5€ per beach towel to hire for the stay. I feel towels should be something a hotel provides you with when you are laying the amount of money we laid to stay there.
