Başka Resort Bodrum

Overall super impressed with our stay; the food and cocktails were great, the spa therapists are really knowledgeable and gave us the best treatments, beautiful views of the Aegean across the whole resort, loved the a la cart restaurant right on the deck by the sea. Little perks like the DJ on the beach, the pianist after dinner made our stay really memorable. The resort is overall very clean, the beach area is great, the water is crystal clear, staff is helpful and there is fresh food and cold drinks / Turkish tea available throughout the day. Would definitely return as the place feels super relaxing, and despite its size very private.

Bathroom in the standard room was tiny. We wanted to book a premium room but these were all listed as twin rooms so we didn't go ahead with booking one of these, these probably come with larger bathrooms, so would definitely recommend going for them. As it's a refurbed/upgraded older resort the balcony and window were also tiny. Again, a different room type may have been a better option, but we weren't particularly fussed about these. There are LOADS of Russian / Eastern European guests, which means larger/noisier groups and lots of smoking everywhere, including at breakfast, dinner, on the beach and in all public outdoor areas. Some dedicated non-smoking areas would have been great.

Food was great with a variation of Asian, European and Turkish cuisines. The views are breathtaking, sea with crystal clear water. The hotel itself is modelled after a Greek village. Staff is friendly.

We came in September and there was no entertainment.

We enjoyed our stay at this newly renovated resort, and overall, it was worth the price we paid. It’s huge, with plenty of amenities, a stunning beach area, and great drinks. The grounds themselves were particularly nice, with beautifully maintained spaces and plenty of room to explore and relax. Our room was clean, the food was varied, and there were lots of restaurants to choose from. The staff were helpful throughout, and the guest relations team went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Our only disappointment was that it didn’t quite feel like a five-star hotel. The minor details fell short, including the thin, inexpensive-feeling bedsheets and towels, as well as the lack of a dry-cleaning service, which we would expect from a five-star property. No major complaints, though, and we still had a lovely stay.

The food was fantastic, the main restaurant & buffet were great, including the snack kiosks during the day. The reception staff didn't explain anything about the resort on check in, we had to ask & probe for answers to get a better understanding about what was included, we didn't know what all the inclusions were, we had to keep asking to get a better understanding, we found out more info from other guests.

The staff do not speak much English, some do not speak any English at all. Communication was a big issue for us as we do not speak Turkish, we felt they would go out of their way for guests they could communicate with. The staff stopped us from using the lounges by the beach early in the morning, some guest's were allowed to reserve lounges, they could not explain the resort rules about this. We were not made aware about how many steps you have to climb around the resort, there were over 200 steps to get from our room the the beach area. I didn't feel value for money, if anything it was expensive for the type of resort it is.
