Elena and Augustino were amazing. They were great communicators and very accommodating. The make wine and olive oil on site in the fall and age it year-round. I Took a cooking class with Elena and it was tons of fun and she even took me to a local farmers market and I got to see how it feels to be a local for a few hours. Highly recommend!!

We almost hesitate to share this, because part of us wants to keep it our little secret—but it’s simply too special not to talk about.Tucked into the hills above Greve, the property offers sweeping Tuscan views of vineyards, olive orchards and scattered farmhouses. With 270-degree vistas, you can see both sunrises and incredible sunsets each day. Our family of 15 spent two unforgettable weeks there, and evenings quickly became a ritual: sipping their Santo Stefano wines as the sun melted into the horizon.There was endless space for our six children (under the age of 9) to run, play and explore, indoors and out. And there are plenty of areas to sit or lounge around the pools while enjoying the views. The house itself invited us to slow down and savor every moment. Several nights, we prepared traditional Bistecca alla Fiorentina over an open fire—an experience we won’t forget—and gathered for long, memorable meals at tables set throughout the property.And then there’s Elena and her family—truly exceptional hosts. Warm, attentive and never intrusive, they were always there when needed (which was rare), ensuring everything went seamlessly.We left with full hearts, lasting memories, and one shared hope: to return as soon as possible. This was truly a trip of a lifetime to a very special place on earth. P.S. Property is a working winery, it is so interesting to be there during harvest. Villa was clean and charming. Authentic, not overly gentrified. The villa listing is for half of the villa -6 bedrooms the other half also has 6 bedrooms. I believe there were a few people staying there but you really aren’t bothered by it. You have your own private pool and courtyard. Hostess was lovely and there is always someone there to get you what you need or answer any questions.

Our friends don’t believe the sunset photos are real. They are and were a magnificent climax to many of our amazing ten days living in the villa at Fattoria Santo Stefano in July 2023. The villa with a large chef worthy kitchen, plenty of comfortable living space and seven AC bedrooms was perfect for our family of eleven people including two kids. Its spaces under the great marble staircase or the 12 person dining table gave the kids joyful hiding place adventures. The pool, hot-tub and garden/terrace added additional space to relax each evening and share stories about everyone’s adventures or sit back with a glass of the villa’s own outstanding Chianti Classico and enjoy the splendid views. The photos on the website are accurate. Family owned, in the case of the Villa at Santo Stefano, means if you are there you become part of the family. Elena, her brother, niece and staff were present to us in so many ways and always warm, friendly and helpful. There were countless little gestures like bringing our laundry in from outside when it rained, providing some fresh eggs for breakfast from their chickens, etc. that made us feel welcome and at home. The added amenities of a wine tour and meal preparation are noteworthy and recommended. We had delicious lasagna, ribollita, tiramisu and fantastic crostini among other Tuscan treats. Piazza Matteotti, main plaza of Greve in Chianti is just 3 miles away, close to a grocery and a local bus stop to Florence.
