Service and staff are amazing. Nice stay a little issue with our first room but they moved us rightaway, Staff was ver accommodating. Thanks for a relaxing few days.

They desperately need new mattresses and to update the bathrooms in their hotel rooms along with the rooms. In a great part of town. Beach is amazing.

Very nice to be on the beach. There was an issue with construction at the hotel near our room, but the management resolved it with a refund. The rooms are large and comfortable.

We didn't realize we were going to have to pay $42.00 per night for parking. The location was perfect, beautiful view of beach and ocean. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was outstanding!

This hotel is stuck in the 1970’s. Needs renovations badly. Smelled of mildew in room, ancient carpet, cheap towels and linens.

This place never disappoints! In fact the service has only gotten better. I have been staying here for three decades and it is as if I am experiencing it for the first time every time. Whoever has hired the new staff has found employees who care about the work they do.

The hotel is always amazing. The changes made to the balconies however ruined our trip. Te charm of the ocean view was almost completely removed by the plywood installed. Plexiglass would have kept the view and atmosphere intact. The balcony chairs are too short to look over the plywood and enjoy the view. I have been visiting this hotel for 20 years and now question returning

Second year in a row I’ve stayed here while attending the golf tournament at Torrey Pines. Always a pleasure, and look forward to staying here again next January! Great staff, accommodations and location!

Elevator on room 333 side very odorous of bug spray, just go smell it. Property very outdated. Not worth the price.

A beachfront hotel... Need more be said? La Jolla is clean, comfortable, and has a great restaurant! Waking or falling asleep to the song of ocean waves is excellent. I appreciated the reassurance of underground parking as well. Even though doors are external facing, the area as a whole does feel safe. I was impressed the sliding doors for each patio have multiple locks as well. I would definitely return!

The location is the reason for staying. The staff was helpful and pleasant. On the downside, the property is dated, and needs a face lift. The shuttle service left us stranded at the Marine Room. The front desk clerk did compensate us for the inconvenience.

This hotel is a little long in the tooth. Paid extra for a view and basically had to lean over the first floor balcony and over the cars to see the ocean. The room as very basic and the service is mediocre. My wife has a disability and needed to get to the room. After struggling up from the parking garage and her needing to get to the room I had to go back down to the garage and put my parking pass on and was told, yes, I need to do it now! Room is basic and dated and the grout in the shower had a sickly grey color. Fixtures were loose and seemed about to fail. Overall I paid a lot for a view I didn't get to stay in a very blah room.

The property is run down. Shower backed up and had to stand in gross water. Noisy and overall should be torn down and rebuilt. Disgusting. Left early it was so bad.

We had a great stay! Lovely, charming building, friendly staff, spacious room, gorgeous beach, nice restaurant district just around the corner.

I am always a fan of this hotel. Very clean and close to the sand of a very kid friendly beach. The only disappointment this stay was the staff at the front desk. They seemed very confused on about anything we asked them. We also had issues with the parking cards to get in and out almost every time. We would get a new card to try again, but the attitude was “nothing we can do, and not our problem”. Again, this is still a very nice hotel, and we look forward to at least one stay a year if not more. Hopefully the front desk staff will grow into their roll, and problems will be dealt with more urgency and care.

I love the location. What I don’t like is the lack of accessibility for someone with a walker to get to the beach. It’s all stairs and no ramps. What I absolutely detest is the way they charge an outrageous fee for parking and a resort fee, extra for paying their dining room staff, and they even pass on fees to the tourism agencies!

The 3rd floor room with vaulted ceiling and view of pool & ocean are amazing. The restaurant has excellent service and food. We loved being on the beach and boardwalk. The town is so close and has great activities.

Late check in and early check out. They nickel and dime you. $25 mandatory resort fee. $35 parking in a room that cost $454 for 19 hours. There was blood on the mirror in the bathroom, so housekeeping isn't justifying expenses.We will not return

We stayed in a ocean front suite we slept with the patio door open to hear the ocean which was so relaxing we had a picnic in our room the room service was good and fast the restaurant was great food was good

It’s right on the beach! I got the kitchenette room but when I arrived I got a coffee machine and small refrigerator. When I called the front desk, she told me third party descriptions are different from theirs. I had to ask for a microwave. They charged my card without an invoice. Everything is extra cost.But, I went for beach front and got it.

The location of this hotel is amazing, and that's the reason to stay if you do - right on a beautiful beach, and near some very charming restaurants. Do beware of the hidden resort fees: when you book on Expedia you'll be quoted a charge without the fees, but you'll pay 25-30 more per day than you're quoted. Also, know that you're paying $400 a night for the location. The rooms themselves could easily be mistaken for rooms at a Motel 6. Also, some of the staff are lovely but the woman who checked us in seemed to be in a terrible mood, and took it out on us.

Great location and very close to some nice restaurants! My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and they left us a card in our room with 2 champagne glasses but without any champagne, but nonetheless it was very thoughtful. Our room was clean and had a nice partial view of the beach. They also have complimentary shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel which is convenient if you dont have a car. It really is great for the price and would come back again.

Wonderful location directly on the boardwalk. The Hotel had a restaurant and bar and E-Bike rentals. There were a dozen or ore restaurants 2 blocks away.

What a wonderful location! It has been on my husbands bucket list to have a drink at the bar watching the sun set over the ocean. Thank you for helping him fulfill his wish.
