Fairmont Winnipeg is a great location and friendly staffing. The room, however, had an awful smell coming from the bathroom likely from the plumbing. We we were also unable to control the thermostat and had to leave the room to cool off. Bed was comfortable but the overall cleanliness was lacking. Based on these issues we would likely choose a different brand of hotel going forward.

when checking into a group of 7 rooms at 7 pm at night, the rooms were not ready, however, other people were being given their keys. We also were not given one of the requested rooms and two of my colleagues had to share a king bed (instead of the requested double queen beds) for a night. It also took days before the manager would return communication with me. Will not book again due to staff behaviour

Staff helpful and friendly. Bedding clean and comfortable. Rooms need a refresh. Carpets and walls looking grungy. There was no hot water at the sink in the morning.

Awesome Hotel. The room was very nice. The pool on the top was really nice and had a great view. The best part of this hotel is the elevators. The elevators are so fast and fun! They also worked very well and never had long waits. It is too bad that they are about to rennovate this hotel because it does not need to be rennovated. When they do rennovate this hotel DO NOT MODERNIZE THE ELEVATORS!!!!!! The elevators worked very well and were so fast and as a bonus are fun to ride. We will gladly stay here again IF they leave the elevators alone with the rennovation but if they modernize the elevators we won't be back.

The staff are absolutely amazing!! Very accommodating and fantastic service!!
Room was too hot and made us ill AC isn’t on in the winter no windows that could open. Changed our rooms quickly to a room that had windows that could open much better. Valet parking was wonderful with in/out service anytime the other parking lot that is self service isn’t in/out privileges. Odd smell coming from outside which wasn’t pleasant but nothing they could do about that. The Lounge restaurant/bar fantastic food and service Maria was absolutely fantastic. Ice machines didn’t work on some floors and vending machines were empty. All in all great place close to everything we needed. Again staff fabulous!!

Didn’t ask for housekeeping and they came up and cleaned the whole room. Was very surprised. lol. They even folded out dirty laundry and tidied up our things. Wow. Great place. They said they were gonna send up a cake for my gfs birthday. They didn’t. But that’s ok.

Check in time is not accurate. I was here an hour AFTER check in time and was told my room was not ready and would have to wait. Most people have plans and can’t wait around for a room to be ready.

The room we stayed in was looking a little tired, in need of a refresh. Bathroom cabinet was water stained, carpet wore. There was no hot water at 10am, lukewarm shower. Ice maker on our floor was broken. The bed was nice and linens good. The staff very helpful and location is good.

Never Again! From the moment I arrived to the moment I checked out! Brutal experience. I get a better service at a Day's Inn Hotel! Not one time did they even as how my stay is going after my crappy 1st room. I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. I had to turn the heat up to +27 degress to even get some sort of heat. Had to run the shower for 10 min to even get hot water. They are not environmentally focused.

We didn’t even stay the night at The Fairmont - the staff did not mention there might be a smell of paint. There was a very strong smell of paint turpentine throughout the floor we had our room on. Immediately we became nauseous our eyes became red and irradiated throat. Next thing that hit was the light-headedness - we both have health issues and could not stay in the hotel room due to the strong smell of paint

Overall there is nothing great about this hotel. The rooms are mediocre and the amenities aren't anything great. You also have to put down a 200 dollar deposit when checking in for any indecdentals which is something they don't metion when booking.

The staff was good. Nice to talk with front desk people. Hotel overall was clean. Our room thermostat did not work so our room was very hot. The shower nob did not work well and showers were cold. We had fire alarm go off in at midnight. I think due to elevator smoking. The beds are doubles versus queens. The garage is a decent walk although nice there is a tunnel available so not cold walk. We likely won't stay again.

The Pool/sauna area was closed. They did not tell us when checking in so we got into our pool clothes and went to the pool area only to find out then.

I am pregnant and visited town for a few days for a surgery related to pregnancy. Unfortunately when I went to park my car in the parkade all of the elevators were down (without prior notice even though I booked well in advance in November) so this was very unmanageable for me as I cannot lift my luggage and it was a struggle. I did inform them of this and they very graciously offered to let me give my keys to valet free of charge which was a huge help after the surgery, I just wish they had notified me before hand so I could have made proper arrangements or at have been told when I inquired about parking options upon arrival. While they did rectify the situation for me I felt it was important to mention in case anyone else is in a situation where they are alone and cannot lift or use the stairs

The first night I was in a room by the elevator and was not able to sleep due to the noise of the elevator going up and down all night.
Second night I changed rooms, and I had no hot water. When I called to see if it could be fixed, the service guy came up and let it run for 30 minutes. Then said, just let it run before you take a shower.....next morning it was at least warm after about 20 minutes....
Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice. They had coffee makers in the rooms, but neither of mine was stocked with anything and there was no free coffee anywhere in the lobby.
I'll pass on this place next time.

Very inconvenient location, horrible parking situation with inconvenient third party parkade at the back of the property, with no elevator so yes, you need to carry your luggage down the stairs. Terribly disorganized with bunch of pick up trucks parked around the main door. No other hotel in the world allows that - people blocking driveway, need to back up to main road causing potential accident with oncoming traffic. In case of fire, no fire truck will be able to come through!
Indifferent, sad staff. I stayed at Fairmont Lake Louise, this hotel should not be part of this chain.

This was my first time at the Fairmont and I chose it because it was close to the concert hall. Most aspects were good but breakfast in the lounge was a disaster. Service was eo disorganized and the meal took so long (nearly two hours start to finish) that it wrecked our plans for the morning. I was not a happy camper.
