Staff jocelyn, chris, and moya gave inaccurate info that the hotel would have views of fireworks for the new years. Fireworks were not at the lake front nor were they in view. We notified the hotel manager that agreed to provide full refunds and we checked out!

I really enjoyed my stay

This hotel is more like an event center. No valet service. No help with luggage. Parking is across the street in a 3-story garage which was pretty much full on Friday night. Watered down shampoo and conditioner. Great restaurant but no room service.

Lake side location and convenience to downtown Columbia

I got the King size deluxe room and it was amazing with a side view of the lake. The scenery was everything.

Our first time at this location , but it’s about to become our permanent place when we visit . Check in was a breeze , the bed was super comfortable. Toiletries ✅, the ambiance ✅. Breakfast in the morning at restaurant was also great. Not a single complaint. We shall definitely return!!

Very clean and great staff

We stayed at the hotel several times, when attending music concert. This stay started great as normal with friendly staff, and quick service. The room this time was very loud, we were able to hear every word fir the room next to us….room 603, not a good choice. After the concert, we returned back to hotel, and the bar was busy, but bartenders would not take my order. Other patrons actually notice this action. Crazy, enough the patron order a drink fir my wife and I. It appeared the bartender just wanted to go home. Disappointing stay…..

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed drinks and dinner at the bar. Great bartender/waiter who gave such great service. Loved the walking path around the lake.felt very safe.

Not a great place for meal

Very clean and comfortable. The room was amazing. I loved walking around the hotel and seeing all of the amenities available including the roof top pool! The property is beautiful and I would easily stay here again. It’s a pricey hotel but if you can afford it go for it.

THIS is THE hotel to book if you are going to a concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion. It is perfect and a cool vibe.

We got called for a noise issue for laughing.

This was my second stay at this property. I returned because of the HIGH standards they have, especially on cleanliness. Also, as a solo traveler, safety is important and the elevator protocols were very good (room key card needed to take elevator to your floor.) The staff was made of of friendly, helpful people.

I liked everything about the hotel except for the fact that there is not a microwave onsite and the limited space in the bathroom. At least one microwave in a kitchenette area should be available at any hotel or extended stay. The limited space in the bathroom is a good reason to look elsewhere. Please consider removing the small table between the sink and toilet, and adding shelves or some sort of tower that will allow guests to utilize more space.

The layout of this hotel has great energy. The bar overlooking the lake is incredibly cozy with surprisingly top notch cocktails & food. The best part was my pooch could join me in the bar while I worked and chilled and for that reason this will always be my first choice hotel in Columbia. Nice work Marriott! Excellent location to walk to some of Columbia’s best restaurants and obviously Merriweather, too.

Beautiful room and view. Loved the balcony!

I had asked for a quiet room on a high floor not fronting the atrium. I paid for a lake view. I’m on the atrium, it’s nearly 11pm, it’s very noisy, kids are running through the halls and the front desk is telling me there is nothing they can do. I stayed here once before and had a very good experience. I have 3 additional rooms booked for family members tomorrow night and am worried that they will have the same experience.

Everyone was very nice. The rooftop pool was great. Even with a festival adjacent to the property, it was very quiet and restful.

I took my husband here for Father’s Day. All I can say was we really enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff was exceptional. I booked the wrong date and they was happy to fix the mistake for me. We arrived and a festival was going on. We had a ball. It was so clean and comfortable. Definitely 4 stars all around. We can’t wait to come back. Only thing I was unhappy about was no free breakfast but it didn’t take from the experience. My husband enjoyed every moment so I felt great. Also the lake view is something amazing. Will be back again!!! Thank you Marriott.

A wonderful classy and comfortable hotel on a lake and access to lots of restaurants and Merriweather Post.

Where do I start… after the hotel ruined our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, they did nothing to even attempt to rectify the situation. Charging my card and telling me it never went through even though I showed them right on my phone the funds were taken. Even had me call my bank while in the lobby (yes on Valentines Day) just for my bank to confirm it was the hotel holding the funds and even that was not enough. The general manager was rude. I went to corporate to file a complaint and after providing every single thing they requested of me, they said “sorry nothing we can do”.

I ate at Lak, which was very good, with good service, however, the first night, when I opened the dinner menu, it had crumbs all over it. Someone should check these things. Plus, my coffee maker didn't work, and I had to have it replaced.

This is probably one of my favorite hotels to date to stay at. There was a very quiet, modern luxurious feel to the hotel. The receptionist as well as the staff at the adjacent restaurant and cafe were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. Pillows, blankets were clean and easy to fall asleep in. The bathroom had all the essentials and the shower was incredible. We had a lake view, which was absolutely gorgeous at night. We also visited a few restaurants which were all within walkable distance to the hotel. It truly felt like a vacation staying here, and my friends and I are already looking to see when we can come back. We absolutely recommend it to anyone who needs to get away from the city for a bit and just unwind.

While the look and style is modern and fresh there was no substance to the experience. Our check in experience was ok because the employee at the front was sitting inside an office, behind a closed door when we arrived at the desk complaining about being tired. She didn’t appear to want to be working there. Our room cards didn’t work in the elevator so we rode up with another guest. Didn’t like the room doors facing out into the interior so noise carried up as we were on Thurs floor. We paid more for a lake view room but was on a low floor with large lush trees in front completely blocking so no view possible. Lastly, we ordered and sat in the bar to eat dinner. Food was very subpar. But the biggest disappointment for an autograph Marriott were the bartenders and wait staff were goofing and loitering around, yelling about their manager not being around. They kept bouncing in and out of the bar and acted like it was a fraternity night cursing, yes, calling the manager the f word loudly for guests to clearly hear. Laughing and high fiving. Something about the manager being on another smoke break and concluding that was why service was so poor. We found it highly unprofessional. We’re not prudes and travel a lot but this was not acceptable. Best parts were…the bed was very comfortable. And the fellow serving up breakfast at the to go bar was friendly and very professional. Needs better management for future. Was disappointed.
