Came back to the hotel after getting soaked by rain and hailstorm to discover there was no hot water. We obviously had to forego showers prior to going out for the evening. We were offered free breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience.
The following morning while getting ready (using the restroom) housekeeping knocked, walked into the room even though the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the outside door handle.
After that debacle we went to the front desk. While receiving the voucher we were vehemently told by the front desk it was not for the lobster benedict. After approaching the restaurant staff to be seated it was again reiterated it was not for the lobster benedict. Right after our server came over and saw the voucher on the table we were then told AGAIN it was not good for the lobster benedict. I said to Landon the waiter that I was aware I saw the fine print at the bottom of the voucher as well as being TOLD 2 times previously. At which it was pointed out that he had to be extra firm and hit it home that the lobster benedict was not included. Of the numerous places I've patronized I've never been made to feel as a though I was a simpleton.
To wrap up the stay breakfast was the absolute worst we have ever tasted. It was so vile tasting we assumed the kitchen had a discussion with Landon. As we both had different menu items and both we equally distasteful.

Great place to get away and relax. Staff was friendly and helpful. When my husband and I go back to New Mexico we will be staying here again.

There were only a couple of goods to the stay. The rest was bad, bad bad upon check-in the night desk clerk was absolutely amazing! Very helpful, very knowledgeable and went above and beyond and pretty much ends. There decided to go have a couple drinks at the bar at which point Bartenders were working and one of them was extremely rude to us to the point when I asked for the address to the hotel so I could order a pizza for dinner as the restaurant was closed. You have a phone look it up yourself. I was extremely taken back and blown away that hotel of this caliber which its customers like this… we proceed to the room only to find that it was less than stellar condition. It looked like it had not been dusted or vacuumed in quite a few days of the molding falling down the tub was extremely filthy, and the beds were very creaky and loud. we then went to get ready the next morning and check out and upon packing clothes, items of clothing and undergarments that did not belong to us stuffed under the beds, along with lots of trash under the beds, as if they had not been moved in months upon inspection in the hotel room and just really not expect from a four star hotel we did eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant which was absolutely amazing but the waitress seemed very uninterested in assisting us. Val around and was very respectful.
Management was advised of the issues and while they did listen seem to not believe This. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

This is one of the most beautiful places to stay! The grounds are clean and serene, the room was amazing, large and well-appointed. I heard *some* noise from the hallway late into the night, but all in all, it was quiet and so comfortable! The HVAC system made some noises in the night, but the temperature was perfect and even throughout my three days' stay. HIGHLY recommend!

There was no hot water. We were told we would be issued a refund because we didn't have any hot water in the 2 bedroom suite, but the hotel is not responding or issuing any refund. The bathrooms were not very clean and still have large wads of hair in the tubs. I would expect more to be done to fix the issues we had.

El Monte Sagrado is a special place with a very grounding, peaceful energy. The ambience caters to a meditative space, conducive to connection with nature through a number of cultures, most prominently Native American.
The resort's architecture is very traditionally New Mexico, with the territorial style of wooden vigas, stucco adobe-looking buildings, and long outdoor corridors surrounded by lawns, trees, and meandering ponds.
The lobby is spectacular, with a spiral and giant citrine crystal in the ceiling, a fireplace to sit by, and the bar and restaurant are just inside.
The greenhouse atrium and pool / hot tub area are simply amazing! Relaxing amongst the greenery was idyllic.
The resort is a short 1/2 mile to the Taos Plaza area if shopping and restaurants are your thing. It's a great home base to explore the area. We actually chose to stay here over Ojo Caliente this trip so we could be in town.
We will definitely return for another relaxing 4-day stay!

Beautifully decorated rooms, very comfortable beds, super friendly and helpful staff. Even though the outside temperature was well below freezing, we all felt warm and cozy inside with all the fireplaces throughout and the and lovely rejuvenating hot tub in the fitness center

Such a cute property with excellent ideas implemented by the staff. Located in Old Town so super close to fun little shops and restaurants. Mostly the staff and service are amazeballs. I love such friendly, helpful, funny, authentic peeps like these! A definite recommend and I’ll be back on my next trip through. Thank you!

The staff, accommodations and room/restaurant were everything I had hoped it would be! I stayed here when I was a teen, over 10 years ago and nothing has changed, only gotten better. I will be coming back for years to come, I highly recommend.

The hotel has a beautiful indoor pool and hot tub, both were being worked on throughout our stay as the water temps were cold in each. We chose this hotel based on the pool access.

Our stay was amazing. The hotel was very accessible to local shops. My husband and I enjoyed a couples massage. The property in general was very breathtaking.

We had the most wonderful stay here. The staff is the kindest and gave us the best recommendation for horse back riding near by. We can’t wait to stay here again.

This hotel is fine, but doesn’t live up to the hype.

Rooms are showing signs of age and lacking maintenance and upkeep. Disappointing for the price you pay. Property is beautiful otherwise. Restaurant was very good but menu is limited. Wine selection needs an upgrade. Staff provided excellent and friendly service.

This place is amazing. So peaceful and beautifully created. Every space flows both visually and physically. Staff and service very good. Bar perfect. Restaurant cuisine very good. The only suggestion I have for the property is they need to update their technology at least by offering accessible plug in by both sides of beds for electronics and even CPAP machines.

We were greeted with a big smile and professionalism. It is a quiet oasis in the middle of a hustle bustle. Food was excellent. We enjoyed walking around the property in a quiet park like atmosphere. Would stay again.

I checked in and was told I had two rooms reserved. Staff canceled one as I didn’t need “assistance” but the one they checked me into was over $100 more than my Expedia cost. Will check tomorrow when I check out.

Quaint resort, very beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Front desk was super helpful and nice and the bar area, especially the service was less than I expected and has potential for opportunities there.

For a long weekend B-day getaway, we were stunned to find this hidden gem. Beautiful grounds, quiet and hidden among pines and against the foot of the mountains. Rooms were quiet, spacious and nicely appointed. Robes for sipping wine on the private patio and watching sunset, soft comfy beds, with in room gas fireplace for romantic vibe. With the old growth trees, you feel like your in an alpine getaway in Europe. So relaxing, quiet, and rejuvenating. We had done quite a bit of international travel over last few months and we wanted just a nice, no stress getaway to someplace cool to relax and enjoy. What a surprise to find this fantastic location a mere 5 hours from home. Enjoyed strolling the grounds, sightseeing the local area and plaza, had after dinner drinks at the Anaconda Bar the first night, B-day dinner the next day at the restaurant, delicious Seared Scallops! The last morning we had breakfast in the sun room and enjoyed fresh French press coffee to send us on our way.
Can’t wait for a return trip!
