We arrived after midnight, exhausted only to be put into a room that looked like the furniture was used in a fight. The bedside lamp on my side of the bed is a likely fire hazard. The water control for the shower was loose and hard to regulate. The hair dryer on the wall threatened to come off completely.
We were too tired to do anything other than fall into the bed and sleep. In the morning I watched a hard shelled bug make its way across the floor.
Has anyone else ever felt like you get punished for booking through an app?
At any rate ($110) we paid way too much for this room and will plan to never stay there again :(

Rotten food and tampon plastic found in a drawer beside suite bed, room extremely cold, crumbs on the carpet floor, tub not cleaned as pink liquid still on tub edge (wiped with a hand towel). This hotel could be extremely better with some extra TLC!

The room was too hot. No air conditioning. There were bugs in the hallways and one in our room. One of our teammates found a bed bug… The water slides are fun but there is so much chlorine that the kids were coughing so much. The hotel cleaning staff were friendly, the smittys staff were friendly but the man at the front desk was rude multiple times to many of us. This is our second time staying here for a hockey tournament and it’ll likely be our last.

This facility is in dire need of renewal. Shower was not useable as the tub faucet would only work on hot only or cold only. Relatively clean but in poor condition.

Property, room etc were acceptable. What wasn’t was when I booked w this app the room rate was 80. Plus taxes 89. When I got there I was charged 122. Not happy.

the safety deposit of $250 on my visa did not work for me i wont stay at this place again

Was really looking forward to a hot tub after the drive here to find out after going into the pool area that it is out of order

Chose this property for its kid friendly amenities, the pool and water slide. Issue became it was un-supervised and young adults we having fun running up the slides colliding with sliders including young kids. Management did respond and resolved but only after complaints. Facilities have a central heating cooling which moves the pools moist air throughout the hotel, mold was observed in several areas. Final issue was it is a pet friendly hotel and our room had extremely high pet dander triggering an allergy forcing an early departure 4:00 am as we couldn’t take the room any further. Facility needs a deep clean.

Customer service was brutal! So unprofessional and rude ! Non smoking rooms wreaked of smoke and the pool area is so old and unkept it was almost creepy. Slides weren’t even in service. Kids were so so bummed and uncomfortable.

The service at front desk leaves a lot to be desired. Tells us our room number but puts a different one on card. Pool down, elevator broken, ice machine not working on main floor. Very disappointed

A locally own hotel that caters to travellers and families. We enjoyed our room right off the pool.

Will never stay here again. The staff was beyond rude! We were told they do not like online bookings and put us all over the hotel even though we had asked to be close together for our 3 rooms.

It’s been years since i stayed in the Tropical Inn. The facility is in need of renovations..,it’s old and furniture is worn. The hot tub and pool were disappointing as the water was not hot in the hot tub and the water in the pool was too cold to enjoy😒

We had specifically requested adjoining/connecting rooms and it was even confirmed over the phone by the day manager that we were able to accommodate us and had us booked in connecting rooms. When we arrived, we were given rooms that are not only not close/adjoining, but they were also on different floors! The clerk showed very little understanding and could not explain how within a few days our booking was messed up and we were split up. Reluctantly, she moved one of us to the same floor -- far down the hall. Better than nothing. This is the second time the hotel's been unwilling / unable to give us adjoining rooms and it's starting to look like a pattern. This review is for management to see and hopefully train their front desk clerks to be more engaged when dealing with guests.

First the bad. Very overpriced. The rooms all need to be renovated and overall are disgusting. The HVAC is terrible. Pool water sometimes burns because either the water has too much chlorine or really hard water.
The only positives are the 2 water slides are the longest and best I have seen in a hotel. The other positive is the convenience of having a Smitty’s restaurant and also a Bennigans pub in the hotel

Booked at the hotel partly because of the pool but expedia didn't indicate it was closed for maintenance. Also at check in it wasn't mentioned. My husband needed the pool for Therapeutic reasons so this was about pain not fun.
Also the air conditioning wasn't working and the peephole in the door was missing. Someone had stuffed a napkin in it.
Couldn't wait to check out and won't return.
