The staff at the front desk and in the dining area were so helpful and accommodating to me and my friend's elderly mother, who has mobility and cognitive issues. Our room was clean and comfortable, but there was not nearly enough lighting available to read. There were parts of the lower wall in the bathroom that were crumbling and in need of repair (probably from where water from the shower soaked them). The front of the hotel was pleasant, but was backed by an empty lot, and our ground floor room looked out onto it and some dumpsters. I found the U-turn from 287 North to be tricky in heavy oncoming traffic from the southbound lane and had to be careful when turning right onto the short driveway because of a big pothole on one side. The hotel is just about 10 minutes north of the NRS Ranch, and not far from Decatur dining and other services.

Staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

This hotel needs major update. Doors in hallway were peeling paint or varnish. The fabric sofas in breakfast area had stains all over them. Tables had not been wiped clean from previous day. Dead locusts in hall. Toilet was really low, like for a child, not a full grown adult. Breakfast was cheese omelet, dry turkey sausage, hard biscuits with gravy, usual other stuff. Bed & pillows were comfy. Shade over window was repaired with duct tape. AC worked ok. Would never stay here again. We made reservations at last minute cuz Hampton was sold out of king bedrooms. Mistake.

Great place to stay

Room was clean and comfortable but was disappointed that the pool was so green. Towels were also very small.

Can’t beat the free breakfast buffet at HIE!! This hotel was not as updated as others but it was clean and staff was friendly and welcoming!

Food was left in the fridge from the previous occupants and the toilet made this high pitched noise off and on all night long. And housekeeping barged into our room at 6 in the morning, without warning or anything. 0/10 DO NOT STAY HERE

Room had funny smell, vinegar smell, struggled with air flow in room, driveway into hotel was bad broken concrete a big hole. Tub was stained really bad. Shower head blasted us.

The lady at the front desk was rude. We booked a king size bed and she gave us two full sized. When we went to ask for the right room she said “you can look at my screen. It says I can give you any room” until I argues it enough she said she’d go see if there was one being cleaned. She found one but didn’t speak to us till she had the key and was like “I found one. Here you go. It is being cleaned but should be done when you get up there”. It wasn’t. We had to wait about 10 min standing outside the room till it was finished. It was a clean room but she made check in miserable.

The water knob in the shower did not work. And the water pressure in the sink was poor. Lot of wear and tear in the room.

Very poorly executed remodel. Have pictures of shortcomings.

Arrived exhausted at about 2:30 in the morning only to find out they had no remaining rooms available even though I had a confirmation. Said they tried to contact Hotels.com to have them reach out to me but I heard from nobody and had to sleep in my car at a rest area.

There were 6 hairs in the tub and it was DISGUSTING

Ordinary hotel with basic facilities. Pool cold and not super clean.

I was called 10 minutes before arriving and was told they made a mistake and were overbooked. This is at 10:30cst after driving 5 hours. I’ll never book at that holiday inn again, may never use this app also

This is not typical of Holiday Inn. The refresh paint was minimal. Stairwells had a funky odor. Took long time to get oht water for shower. Friendly help, breakfast was good. Typical for a Comfort Inn or basic BW.

Bathroom light didn’t work, shade didn’t close(left 1 foot gap open), room smelled musty, air didn’t work great, not clean at all, didn’t feel safe in parking lot. Workers smoking right out side entrance.

I hate to say this but for a HolidayIn and a $130 a night this 4 day stay had lots of problems. Starting with getting in and out of there parking lot is VERY DANGEROUS. you turn right off a high way directly into their parking lot and you pull out right onto a 70mph highway thats shares an exit onto a 2ed highway. To make this worse there are huge potholes if you turn to early or try to ride the sholder before turning into there lot. As for our room it had a leaking roof, the air vent was very dirty, the tv remote didnt work. That said the room had a bit of an odor. I would assume from the water leak or the dirty air vent. Next the elevator was out of order all 4 days and the stairwell was poorly lit, hot and unventilated. But I would have to say the most unpleasant part of my stay was the fire alarm going off "every few hours" all 4 days if my stay.. Good stuff, the pool looked nice and the staff was nice, lots of parking space, even for larger vehicles. i did not try the breakfast but other people seemed to enjoy it. Minus the stuff listed above the room was clean and comfortable and had very good blackout shades. Over all this stay seemed to have a lot of problems but i believe this hotel has lots of promises once it gets some of these problem resolved..

Water was turned off in pm and the next mourning

The lady at the front desk was very rude. She argued with everyone. Food was nasty. Rooms we dirty.

The top was broken and my girls and I were staying alone. No iron in our room. Pool was closed for maintenance. Pool was one reason we chose this hotel. Disappointing for children. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful.

The air conditioning unit was not working. Could not sleep all night. Had kids with us that wore already sleeping so didn’t want to wake them up. We had ac unit to the coldest it would go and it never got cold. 😕

Checked in and went up to the room to find someone already in it - which was embarrassing for both of us. No other rooms available so they offered the same room at their sister location Candlewood saying they would cover any differences. Great experience with Candlewood but they do not offer any breakfast. Contacted the manager at Holiday inn and with Corporate to cover the breakfast expenses. IHG says its not their problem and the manager has not responded. Very poor experience - avoid if possible.
