What a great weekend! The Hotel Palmas De Cortez was a very nice place to stay. Easy to find, check in, plenty of amenities around to keep us entertained. Will be back!

The hotel has a ton of potential Not sure if it was the season we came for a visit or what. We did not have hot for the shower and the food was not that great.

It’s a little run down in parts, maybe past it’s prime. Also our room was very dark, almost a cave, and when the room above used their bathroom you heard the drains loud and clear. But the staff were all friendly and helpful. And the beachfront setting is quite special, amazing sunsets and sunrises.

What a beautiful resort with breathtaking sea views. The staff was outstanding from the front desk to the restaurant with great customer service, prompt response to all requests and helpful tips around the city. A special shout out to Alina Damian at the front desk who went above and beyond to accommodate a room change and transportation.

My husband, dog and I stayed in Hotel Palmas de Cortez in December 2023. The ground floor room was a little older but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast which was included and made to order (Mexican and North American dishes) was fantastic and the restaurant is right on the beach with outdoor tables on a deck. The front desk, cleaning and restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful and they were super welcoming to our dog. We were able to walk to great restaurants for dinner along the beach a couple of times and had a glass of wine and a beer at a scenic bar on the water that was associated with the hotel.

We enjoyed a one night stay in early December. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and engaging. Overall the hotel room was very nice and the ocean view was worth the extra cost. The bathroom and overall size of the room was very comfortable. The resort clean and well kept, but certain aspects were dated, and the landscaping lighting at night could really use an upgrade. Much of the service and amenities were closed, as occupancy seemed very low. The front desk provided hours of operation for the restaurants and bars, but then never opened, such as the sushi restaurant we hoped to dine at or the snack bar. We’d stay again.

Sliding patio door didn't latch properly
Shower window didn't lock properly and the window casing was filthy
Deadbolt didn't work
Safe was broken
Refrigerator was broken and smelled like dead fish.
(It was replaced quickly)

Pool was greenish brown and had all sorts of trash in it, but we'll cut some slack here due to the weather
There was no back up water source when the town's water source was disrupted. (the front desk clerk did offer us free beach chairs for this inconvenience, but we checked out instead.)
NOBODY would give us a receipt showing we checked out two days early so we could submit this information to Expedia for a refund. I tried three times with three different employees on two different days.
Now I have to spend more of MY time getting a refund.

The staff was extremely efficient and helpful. We got a flat tire on our rental jeep, discovered it overnight. We were missing a tool to replace the spare tire, and their maintenance person appeared promptly with his tool kit and changed the tire with my husband. Just one of many helpful gestures by the staff.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for. It was quiet, beautiful views, good food, not crowded and we even saw a humpback whale and jumping mobula rays from our pool chairs! The rooms were clean and spacious

Nice rooms, great view of pool area & ocean. Balcony was lovely. Unfortunately, wifi did not work in room, only on balcony or pool side. Had a good supper in restaurant. Overall, very nice.

Quiet at the hotel mid December. My understanding only about 25 guests in a large property. The hot tub outside of our cluster of units was cold - but there was a functional tub not far away. Beds were quite firm. The cleaning crew did an excellent job with our room. We did not dine on site but the restaurants looked very nice. The hotel is a bit dated, but was generally worth the price. I would stay here again.

I liked how friendly the staff were. Any staff member I saw greeted me pleasantly. And I returned the favour. The property was meticulously kept and the meals we had were outstanding.

We didn’t end up staying. Staff was nice. Didn’t offer refund. Room had no towels or pillow cases. We just ended up leaving and driving home.

The beds are not comfortable, they are old, no mattress protection covers so pretty disgusting. No bottled water in the room for brushing teeth (first time i see that in Mexico). Guests bring their dogs and there is feces beside the side walks on the property. The view from the pool is beautiful, however the pool is not that clean. The food in the restaurant is not very good, i got sick. What i understood from the guests it is a sportfishing hôtel. The rooms are way to expensive. The staff was very friendly. I don't recommend.

The hotel is typical third world—building items unfinished with not much design. We had to insist upon being moved to another room since the first room was dirty. Breakfast was inexpensive but quite nice. Bar was good but pools filter did not work.

We loved the property for the beauty and right on the beach. Beautiful pools. Noisy only because it was spring break. We were mostly upset with the tourists and how sloppy they can be. Not picking up after themselves!
We will definitely be back. Pictures of the property don't do it justice. Way nicer in person.

I enjoyed the placid serenity where the Cortez Sea meets the desert. Very nice and generosity is abound.

We have stayed there before...very good experience. I think we should have been apprised of construction and the unavailability of our favorite pool. We did enjoy the bars and restaurants...but I think our fee should have reflected the activity going on. Still one of our favorite places to stay.

Room was comfortable view from balcony was great. It was very quiet not many guests. Beach was clean and water was clear but cool. There are 2 restaurants on property both excellent and reasonably priced. There are many great restaurants in the little town. We had excellent meals everywhere. The town is small everyone was very nice and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Also note everyone wore masks and used hand sanitizers wherever we went.

The hotel didn’t advertise that they were planning on doing a full pool renovation during our stay, which was a huge draw for us going there in the first place. Construction noise wasn’t how we hoped to spend our vacation.

The hotel is clean and safe. Parking was convenient to our room. We enjoyed having several choices of restaurants right on site. The hot tub was nice each evening after kite boarding.

This property seems a little neglected and maybe of poor construction. The positives - we had a beautiful view from our room and a balcony overlooking the pool and ocean, it was not crowded, nice looking tennis courts, free and secure parking. Negatives - no hot water in the shower, and shower turned off completely several times while using, unheated and dirty pool, very loud late parties at the bar near pool, and poor noise proofing in rooms, no coffee maker in room, and no free coffee available in lobby. That is criminal.
