Cute hotel in a great neighborhood. The room was clean and spacious. The internet was fast and the A/C worked well. Its a great location with a very nice grocery store across the street. There is plenty of food places around, including a small outdoor mall area only an easy 10 min walk away. There is also a restaurant and bar onsite.The staff were all extremely kind. The free airport shuttle can be set up the day before and was about an 18 min drive.

This is a dingy motel type accommodation. Our room was tiny with bugs in the curtains and people walking & talking right out our window which was right beside the bed. They moved us to a bigger cleaner room which was good but it too was extremely noisy and so very out dated. It definitely needs a Reno.
For the same price we could have found a much better nights stay.

We loved this hotel! We started and ended our trip to Costa Rica at La Riviera Hotel. It's a little further than the typical airport chain hotels, but the shuttle service is excellent. The entrance way to check-in is amazing with the hanging orchids! The restaurant is very good and the breakfast that came with our rooms was delicious. Our trip "vote" for Best Coffee was definitely here.

We reserved a Superior Double Room but what we got was not the same room that the pictures showed. When I complained to the manager he said we only have one of those rooms but had booked it multiple times for the same date. I asked for a discount but he refused. He pretty much did not care and told me you cannot do anything about it. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Everybody else except the manager was nice and accomodating.

I was just here one night as I was catching a flight out of San Jose the next day. It was perfect! Beautiful view of the city and mountains, great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Plus the shuttle was perfect.
The staff waa also really friendly.
I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this to anyone flying in or out of San Jose!

Nice place to stay. Transportation crew is very friendly, and helpful. Restaurant has great pizza, staff needs improvement. Could barely find our waitress on several occasions. Overall though, i recommend this hotel.

The Riviera Hotel was one of those pleasant surprises. It is an inexpensive place to stay, but the experience was akin to that of a more expensive place. Free transportation was important to us and the Riviera supplied it.The staff were highly accomodating and very hospitable. I would be happy to stay there again.

Someone was suppose to pick me up at the airport (free shuttle), but nobody came. They had given me a phone number to reach the driver, but nobody answered. I had to pay for a taxi, which cost me 25$us.
It was 1:30 in the morning. I’ve waited one hour and a half. I was very tired.
At least, later that morning, when I went for my breakfast, I saw that the employees were very kind.

We stayed the night before an early morning flight out of SJO. Rooms were quiet, comfortable, and clean. Ate at the restaurant and it was very nice. They had a shuttle to the airport that we scheduled at 4:30 am which was very helpful. Enjoyable stall all around.

Lovely stay for just one night. Breakfast delicious and thankfully offered it “to go” since I had my pup with me.
Will plan to stay again the next time I am in town.

Just stayed one night before flying home. A ‘functional’ and spacious room. Great location and the free shuttle service is brilliant. A lovely refreshing pool. Staff all very professional and friendly.

Excellent service, shuttle to the airport is only every hour but reliable, good breakfast, quiet at night.

I stayed here for one night. The check-in was super easy. The staff was very nice. The bar area was excellent. You have to try their pizza! Will stay here again.

Gorgeous exterior grounds of the property! Love love love the fluffy cat - new best friend! The staff was beyond great! I felt like a rain forest B&B surrounded by a city. The room was very dark, limited electricity plugs and very boring but the bathroom was done very nice. Add some decor and lighting in the room and all will be perfect!

I only needed a hotel close to the airport for an early morning flight. Surprised at what a nice place it is and how charming! Staff were perfect, room was clean and the free shuttle arrived by 4:00 am as requested. Thank you.

We stay here a lot as our flights tend to arrive in SJO late in the evening, they have a great free shuttle to and from the aeropuerto. Rental car lots are very close by, you can save 2 days of rental cost, shuttle will drop you off in the morning to pick up your car and pick you up from the car lot the evening before you leave. Then a great restaurant in house for dinner. Free breakfast very good. We had a very early departure, before breakfast hours, so they packed us a container of fruit. Very nice touch. My bed had bedbugs. I had to find another place to stay in the middle of the night. The hotel can’t refund because I booked through Expedia so I expect Expedia to do something. The staff at the hotel were kind about it but didn’t seem to understand how bad the issue was.
