Very quiet, private Unfortunately could not find reservations during our stay (7 days) at El Rodeo or Toscana restaurants. Theater activities very poor. Merenguero lots of fun for families and dancing. Staff EXCELLENT in every way, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Excellent place for couples gateaway, staff is very gentle and willing to help you and many room options depending your plans.

Had a wonderful stay at this resort. Both the staff and the food were outstanding. My olny negatives of the suite were five issues,1 there was night lamp without cover and the other couldn’t be use because it was setup for European outlets as well as the desk lamp the desk was broken and in the shower the safety bar was coming of the wall. Our room was 114 and i feel we should have received a credit.

I was the night food at the pizza bar food taste old . Missing ingredients on sandwiches staffs unprofessional a staff walked in the room without knocking on the door at 10 PM. My partner & I was sleeping. I asked to get my room switched due to the type of room I have booked and I was denied.

I stayed at the resort for 5 nights and had an amazing time! My boyfriend and I enjoyed it to the fullest. The food options were great, the drinks were good, and the staff was amazing. I would definitely recommend and definitely return!!

I would rate our stay at Catalonia Royal La Romana at 7/10. The property of the adults only hotel is not big, there isn’t a big area to walk around. The 2 property pools are on the smaller side as well. The rooms are nice, modern. Property has a lot of security guards which is also nice. Our most favorite thing was the beach and the water. Super clear water, just as blue as the pictures in the advertisement. Would definitely recommend bringing a snorkeling mask as there is a lot of fish and reefs very close to the beach. The beach is nice, but is a bit small, which beach chairs pretty crowded. As well you have to come to the beach early to be able to get a beach chain under the umbrella. Drinks are served at the beach all day, which is a nice refreshment on a hot day. A huge downside for us was that there is A LOT of smoking guests on the property. There are no designated smoking areas, so people smoke in all public gathering places, and especially the beach, which is quite disturbing to those who don’t smoke and don’t appreciate the smell of it. I think this really needs improvement. A lot of the staff don’t speak English, but most are willing to work it out with understanding you. Room service was very slow, food was delivered cold, and orders aren’t delivered at night, even tho the option is available. Restaurants are average, without a too big of a menu. Our favorite restaurant was the Peruvian Siwichi. Overall, we had a good time, and enjoyed the beach and the water!

Food was horrible staff didn’t speak English very hard to communicate with them. No Fans at the out door eating areas you would melt trying to eat outside and most of the eating is outside. No entertainment. Was just a all around bad experience definitely not worth it

Just a wonderful all-inclusive resort with great amenities. Food was great, awesome beach with crystal clear waters and pools had walk-up bars.

Air conditioner system is not working good in rooms. Small fans in restaurants are not enough for cooling. The hotel is way overcrowded and almost half of the beach is taken for exclusive club. At 6 am you hear doors slamed loud because people rush to reserve shade on the beach

The property has a beautiful atmosphere, but upon my arrival my room had AC issues which I had to reach out 3 times for and wait 6 hours for it to be addressed. I was given a new room that was not ready for use, so I had to keep calling for the typical room amenities like pillows, robes, slippers, soap, and even the beach towels. The room service menu is not up to par for 5 star hotel; it only had 4 items at night, and did not bother ordering Bc I was told it was a long wait. Before checking out I had asked for a few items to be frozen the night before and upon checking out the were only placed in the fridge, which was an inconvenience for my travels, and upon my concern my discomfort was not validated. Customer service was not what you would expect at a 5 star hotel. I do like that there is a section for adults only. The best service came from the bellboys! Overall enjoyed the beach, pool, buffet food and all vacations are good with great company.

Clean beach area ,lots of umbrellas ,no seaweed.

We didn't like anything about this property. Three different rooms, all with issues. One room's location was in the main travel path for the resort and right beside nightly entertainment, one room had water pouring out of the ceiling AC vent and one room had no AC and we had to stay in that room all night. Beach is a distance to walk although they offer a golf cart ride every 15 minutes. Beach is also packed tightly with chairs and it fills up quickly early in the morning with people staking their claim. Pool is extremely small and lounge chairs are limited.

More entertainment for adults would be nice. The family side was way more fun. They need to have better music choices or dj for adult pool w longer hours. Better way to schedule restaurants would be great. Extremely hard to book different spots for the week; with really late dinner times. They need to upgrade their pillows and bed- had a really difficult sleep. However with that being said my stay was great . The ocean was clear, sand was clean, aesthetics of the property was beautiful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and not do much but relax this is the place for you.

All of the staff were friendly, helpful and fun! The place was perfect- they thought of everything! Beach is beautiful-pools clean and spacious. Spa is relaxing. Book this resort- you won’t regret it!

Resort was clean and well maintained; pathways were marked, well lit, and had security cameras; security was present and walking resort regularly; staff was friendly and helpful; dinners were excellent and service impeccable...including bar service; rooms were cleaned/replenished twice each day; pool was clean and relaxing; live entertainment was a great way to wind down at the end of the day. Would recommend to anybody looking for a relaxing and carefree gataway!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Nice beach. Very good food options and friendly staff. The central pool is for the adults only and kid friendly resort. That was the only issue I had with the facility.

Third time at this place at its great. Staff is amazing and a lot of options for food. Will be back again soon.

This was the best resort we have stayed at. The quietness, the beauty of the property, the cleaniness and the crystal clear water of the pool. The entire staff there are wonderful. The food is delicious. We can say enough good things about The Royal atalonia in LaRomana, DR. We had a 2 week stay and every single day was perfect. We give it 10 stars!!!

This resort was beautiful! We choose this resort because it was adults only and had the best reviews. The resort was very very clean, rooms were very clean, the room service was everyday which was nice, and everybody was so friendly! The only downfall that we didn’t like was the hot tub was only for the exclusive members. The food was ok, could have had better options. There was always people trying to sell you something and kept nagging you. The last thing I want to say is DO NOT book the excursion to Saona island. It is a complete joke, it was absolutely beautiful and we got our pics done, but the boat ride back was absolutely horrible. The music was so loud and it was only spanish music playing. The boat was so filled up people were sitting on the ground, there was too many people. The boat ride back was about 2 hours, and the music kept getting louder. After a long day, and everyone’s tired, it was exhausting. I recommend this place to everybody! Just just be aware of the people on the resort and off of the resort always trying to sell you something.

We had a great week at Catalonia Royal! Adults only is worth it for a relaxing experience. Our room was close to everything, although we had about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Great staff, very friendly! We did the Saona Island excursion, which seemed like a tourist trap to us. The food and drinks were great - our personal favorite Swahichi for dinner! The buffet food was ok. We were disappointed that there was no hot tub available for evening swims, although the pools were very nice during the day. The burger food truck on the beach was AMAZING! Must try! Overall we had a great time in La Romana!

Staff was very friendly, customer-focused & attentive to needs.

I really liked the unique touch of this property, with a photo friendly garden, and the unexpected landscapes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only dislike is the staff (particularly the maintenance workers) don't give you enough warning before entering your room. Other than that I had a wonderful stay!

We stayed in one of the Superior Swim up rooms. Well worth the extra. Hotel staff were amazing and everyone was so friendly. Most staff members spoke at least 2 languages and remembered our names when we saw them. Highly recommend Catalonia La Romana

The grounds were nice but the staff and cold food need attention ASAP
