Clean, quiet and the staff were absolutely lovely couldn't be more helpful

I booked the room (Room 7) last minute due to train delays preventing me from reaching my destination. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. What wasn't clear from the details is that the bathroom is separate and across the corridor. It was private, but this entailed using keys to lock the bedroom door, unlock the bathroom door and lock it from the inside as there was no bolt. When you need the bathroom at one in the morning this is a bit of a palaver!! The reason I can't give a good rating is that, whilst the bed was comfortable and everything was clean, the noise from the air con / extractor or whatever is in the roof above the room was so bad that I barely slept. The hotel must be aware of this, so why not supply earplugs? I resorted to toilet roll stuffed into my ears but even this didn't drown out the racket. I even recorded it on my phone! Even in the most comfortable room, if you can't sleep then the room isn't fit for purpose. In the early hours I did wonder why I hadn't just slept on a bench in Carmarthen station!

Nice hotel, a bit too much noise from the bar, and the Hotel.com listing is missing a few details - for the room I was allocated the bathroom was across the corridor, this did not seem to be mentioned in the listing. Breakfast was extra, a while the listing did not mention it either way, it could have been more accurate to avoid confusion.

Booked into our room straight away. It was a lovely room and a massive shower. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding. The locals drinking in the bar were very friendly. We will definitely be going there again

Clean and modern accommodation. Friendly welcoming staff. The only problem was noisy crowds outside until 4am making it impossible to sleep. They were nothing to do with the property though.

Terrible stay without Wifi and no lift. I have knee problems and Iwas given 2nd floor. I asked for first floor upon arrival explained my medical conditions, they asked for extra £30. When i asked about wifi, they said its tempremental sometimes. Then please advertise like that.

What a great place to stay. Massive room with a massive bed and very tidy and clean. Well worth the money. Staff very friendly

Overall a wonderful stay, great welcome, room to a high standard, perfect for exploring the town, would definitely recommend.

Great staff, lovely place

The room/bedding etc. were very clean. No complaints about that. Check-in could have been a bit more professional. No actual car park but we managed to park a little walk away and then after dinner managed to move the car onto the road opposite the hotel.

Easy to find and very welcoming. The room was spacious and clean, the shower cubicle was a good size with good water pressure. I appreciated the room being cleaned daily but didn't understand why the half used complimentary shower gel was replaced when it could have been used the next day.

Have stayed at the hotel on two separate occasions for work, I would recommend this to anybody wishing to stay the the food is brilliant the room are nice, tidy and cleaned regularly a big 10/10

Great stay here. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food (and good portions). Had the single room which was compact but not crowded, had everything needed. Very comfortable. Note that the private bathroom isn't ensuite, not that it matters to me.

Comfortable room in the center of town

So so friendly and helpful. Beds are so comfortable I was able to forget I suffer with Cronic back pain. 100% would recommend this establishment

This is a pub with rooms upstairs. The staff behind the bar were very polite and friendly. The cleaning staff were also very welcoming. We needed an early check in and this was accommodated without any issues. The room was equipped with plenty of tea and coffee, and also bottles of water which was nice considering how hot it had been. The shower was cold water which obviously wasn't pleasant. We parked at Debenhams which is a 5 minute walk. 24 hour parking We got back to the hotel after a wedding just past midnight and had to wait at least 20 minutes to wake up the staff so the front pub door could be opened. It's a shame they don't have a door especially for residents once the pub is closed because if 24/7 staff sleep during the night paying customers are left outside banging the door and ringing the phone off the hook.

Room & service great. No noise being in the high street or being a pub. V convenient for town.

The hotel was lovely, very clean and service was very good but the only down fall that we had a room at the front of the hotel looking on to taxi ramp, it was very hot night but we had colse our window due to the noise and with the closed we still here everything from out side, people waiting for taxi till 5am. And to top it off builder across the road start work 7am on sunday morning! The hotel must know that room has issues with noise on satuday night and it needs better windows fitted

Good value short break Stayed in small single room at top floor of building. Was a little surprised to find a separate toilet/ shower, but everything was clean and good condition. Great breakfasts, friendly staff and enjoyed my stay.

Great stay in a comfortable and well appointed room. But the best thing about this Hotel was the superb service that we received throughout the day while watching 6 nations rugby. The bar staff were friendliness and attentive and the drinks and food were great. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again!
