Peter and Sandy were very pleasant and helpful. The room was well equipped, clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was overpriced and tasted a bit bland.

Perfectly peaceful and quiet. Themed rooms and an upstairs stunning dining room with a view of the very large garden. Perfect hosts. Amazing Food, actually beyond amazing food. Extremely clean. Comfortable bed. The property is secure. An unbelievable pleasure to stay. It is now our 'go to' place when travelling.

WOW!! Talk about the most pleasant surprise you could have! "The Retreat" is unforgettably awesome!
Everything about this place is just soooo good. From Peter's warm, friendly, and informative welcome to Sandy's phenomenal food, there is nothing to fault!
If you're after grey/black/beige/brown, then forget this place.
If you're looking for love, passion, attention to every detail, bright & vibrant surroundings, peace, relaxation, & a calm environment, then this is the spot to stay!
From the warm and carefully thought-out foyer, rooms, & lounge/dining area to the incredible gardens (so much to learn about the plantings that are used in the kitchen), this is a stay that we won't forget!
We'll be back in less than a year- planning another short break based around staying here!
The decor is probably not to everyone's liking, thank goodness! "The Retreat" is a one of a kind!
Peter & Sandy are hospitality experts, and the amount of care and love that has been put into their place is very evident.
Everything is as good as it should be, and Sandy's cooking is beyond belief!
Staying here, there is no need to leave for dinner, because from what we experienced, you will not find better!
The beds are super comfortable, the bathroom a great size, everything that you could need is catered for, and it's super clean (our #1 criteria).
This may all sound OTT, but we have travelled extensively (EU & Aus), and yes, we are not Beige, "The Retreat" is absolutely fantastic!

The rooms were beautifully decorated. The dinner and breakfast was outstanding. Best sticky date pudding ever.
