The room itself was basic but clean, the beds comfortable and that was about it!!! The paintings and decor was of good taste.

There was a TV but it was not working; in fact there was no socket for the plug and the TV was a 'pre-historic' one. We had a shower when we arrived but in the afternoon and the next morning there was NO HOT WATER!!!! We informed the receptionist and the young man said he'd turn the hot water on. An hour later there was still NOTHING!!! We ended up having an ice-cold shower. The next morning, the same issue. We called him to check for himself and instead of admitting and apologising for our inconvenience, he just said there must be a plumbing issue!!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!!!! Upon check in, we were also informed that check out was at 11am - I found it peculiar since I've stayed at hundreds of hotels and BNBs and check out is always at 12 and check in at 2pm. "If you stay longer, you will be charged!" - that was the reply or threat received by the receptionist!!! LOCATION - at the highest point of the island !!! The staff though insisted that it was the center!!! (It's like persuading someone that a fish has legs!!!) I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

I loved the island of Hydra. It is a beautiful place, with a calm and peaceful energy.

I contacted the property to check that we would receive a room with a double bed, as we are a couple. The hotel confirmed that we would. Yet, upon arrival, we were put in a room with two single beds. The room was also missing a bed sheet and not properly clean. I asked if they could move us to a room with a double bed, but they said we could only move for our 2nd night and would have to move our possessions at exactly 11am and wait in the lobby the next day for another room - which obviously we could not do as we had plans to explore the island and that is a major inconvenience. The fridge was incredibly noisy at night, so noisy that in the middle of the night I ended up turning it off.

It is a nice little Guesthouse with an extraordinary friendly staff. Whatever I needed, they were pleased to help me. The room was very clean and it was great, that Theano Guesthouse is located further up, so it was nice an quiet.

Though it was sad that the well promised breakfast wasn't offert anymore without any note in the description.

The hotel was in a traditional, cute building and it was a good price for the area’s market rates

There was no breakfast provided due to covid which we weren’t informed about. We had asked for a double bed and despite having gotten confirmation on it, we were still given two single beds even though we were a couple. It was a short walk from the port but there were lots of steps and the hotel was very hard to find with the instructions provided, I would advise the hotel to add a map in the instructions

There’s quite a few stairs to get to the guesthouse as it is in the higher part of the island but it’s only a 10 min to the main port.
