Great affordable hotel in Soho. It is great value for the buck, stuff is friendly, rooms are clean, and overall condition of the hotel is as much as you can expect from such an old building.
But overall, I would recommend it highly.

Worst hotel experience ever. Actual peep holes in the room. Dirty sheets and service did nothing to help.

We usually stay at Columbia U's guest housing but changed our travel plans and couldn't get a res, so I got on line (for a historic first and I am 80) and found this terrific small hotel in south Soho where everything (staff, location, design,etc.) was perfect.
One proviso, if you ask the desk to reserve you a service to get you to Penn Station early, make sure you get a rate! Ours was $50 for a less than ten minute ride at six a.m. but our night had been so pleasant we didn't really mind and the driver, from Equador, was adorable. But you may not be retired with savings so CHECK FIRST!

Bed was a little broken from other guests, it had a divet in the bottom part

There was a horrible noise in our room both nights, all night long. It was coming from the wall between the room area and the bathroom. When we called the front desk, she was completely rude!! Unacceptable.

Got literally scammed. I paid $133 for a room then was denied entry saying that they’re fully booked. I didn’t get a refund or a change of date. Be aware of this place

Great location. Close to lots of good food and sights. Clean but small room. Only downside was that elevator broke twice so we had to climb up 8 flights of stairs.

We loved this hotel! Rooms are small but it’s NYC, you don’t need much. A lot of great places to eat, from fine dining to holes in the wall, diners and cafes. Easy walk to Chinatown and World Trade.
The hotel was clean, staff helpful. Elevator wasn’t working but stairs were easy and fast. Plenty of towels, good view and an easy stay to enjoy Soho. Would definitely stay again!

An absolutely no frills hotel with friendly staff, in a fairly gritty part of SoHo. Clean, but run down enough that things don’t look exactly sparkling. Good location for transit, and you are after all in soho, with its great shops, cafes, and food.

Great location and bare bones, extremely small room. Very nice staff! But bathroom had long hair from previous occupant all over the tub/shower.
Free Starbucks in the morning is the only amenity. For $500, I expected a little more.

Small, but clean and charming. The room and the view provide a nostalgic feeling of being a real New Yorker! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Tons of Restaurants and shops within blocks.

Staff were friendly and location was convenient. I paid surge pricing during the holidays for a work trip and this wasn't a good value for that. Perhaps regular prices are. Heating system was loud and dry and the cleanliness was just so so compared to other places I've stayed. Again, good staff and likely a great budget option in NYC.

We picked this location for proximity to NYU. Service was top notch, very clean, had nice little amenities. Great eating options nearby. Only complaint was I booked a queen and I'm pretty sure I was given a full sized bed.

The staff at reception were really friendly and full of good advice and recommendations. The rooms were cramped (as is shown in photos so wasn't a surprise) but the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom fine. A really convenient location. I would stay here again. The area was quite noisy with traffic, construction, deliveries etc. and this went on during the night. Bring some earplugs and you'll be fine!

Our double bed room was on the 12th floor. It was very nice and clean and it has a good view. The shower has two shower heads. The water was strong and hot. The air conditioning was good, too. The staff was really nice and helpful. I will stay again. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

For the price great deal. They lest us extend our checkout til 12:30 which was very nice and would have held our bags for us until we had to live to check our flight.

Great location but hotel is out dated and the rooms are small. Location is good if you want to stay in Soho. AC made the room smell musty. Bathroom was ok- shower had great water pressure.
