Penola is a great stop over for travelling
When we walked into our cabin it had a very strong musty smell. The shower base was all rusty and the bunk bed room was enough to get onto the bunks.

Very clean, everything you needed in self contained unit. People friendly

We were in a cabin. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities fine. Plenty of room in the living area which had a small table and chairs, and a couch. The separate toilet was handy.
Aircon didn’t work, other than as a fan. It want too hot so it didn’t worry us to much but anything over about 30C would mean the cabin would be very uncomfortable during the day. At night it cooled down a lot so it wasn’t a problem then. The fan in the bathroom is very noisy. Didn’t use the cooking facilities other than the hot water jug. They look ok. TV on top of the fridge was a bit too small to see properly.

We arrived after hours so lights and heater on for us which was very considerate and welcoming.
Not the most modern cabin but it suited our needs.

convenient location, we were able to walk to dinner. very quiet.

Roomy, clean, well appointed cabin with excellent reverse cycle aircon that got us through an unexpected cold snap. At southern end of Penola, convenient drive to vineyards.
