It was better than I expected and the staff was great. Furniture is run down...and the bathroom had an unpleasant sewage smell. BUT overall it was pleasant and there is a supermarket right next door, and HKU station is 5 minutes away.

Room is nice and staff is very friendly and attentive. The amenities include a self-laundry room, entertainment room with video games and pool table, and a gym.
Our experience unfortunately was affected by other guests who took the kids to play around in the gym while we were doing our workouts. The kids (all under 10), were playing with the weights, climbing into the machines and running around, sometimes with their parents, sometimes just by themselves. This situation happened 3 days in a row, and even though the cleaning personnel saw them and we complaint, no one came to talk to the parents. Its not only disrespectful but also dangerous to have unsupervised kids in a gym with other guests working out.

It would be excellent if there is a dressing mirror and the switches by the bedside are all lit up so that you can tell which switch is for what in the dark
We love best the shower head adjustments with so much water pressure that's un comparable.
The hotel is conveniently located to all mode of public transportation like tram, buses to all parts of HK, Kowloon & NT. The max walk is less than 9mins to the subway turnstile.( 5 mins to B1 entrance of the station)
definitely recommend to others.
Amenities such as washer&dryer (include complimemtary detergent) and gym avaiable 24/7 is a plus

The hotel is wonderful and our room was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel is within walking distance to the subway and lots of shops and restaurants. Would absolutely stay there again.

My Wife and I stayed at the One-Eight-One Hotel for four nights in January 2024. The Hotel is beautiful, and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Luxe Harbour King room with a view of the Harbour. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. There are many amenities like a laundry room, but we did not need them. The only complaint I have is that it is overpriced for the location. It is remote and it takes a while to get to the main attractions of Hong Kong. We didn’t mind too much as we enjoyed riding on the tram, but that can get tiresome after a while. Overall, though, we liked the Hotel.

The walk down the street to the property passes in front of a narrow alleyway, usually with garbage bags and the exhaust of a recycling center.

Had some issues before staying, but it got resolved. Was unecessary hard to fix, but still thankful it was done.
The service in the hotel was definetely one of the best. Note this only applies when you stay at the hotel!
You will almost all the time meet them through main entrance, and they greet you very enthusiastically and helpful!
And first person we met at reception was exceptionally great! The others was normal.
The hotel rom did look nice, eith good amenities. But if you take a closer look the fridge didn’t work and curtains was worn down.

Property was in pristine condition, the staff were super helpful and welcoming (particularly the cleaning staff).
The rooms were much bigger than the usual HK size, and are well designed, equipped and cleaned.
Location was great, close to tram stop and MTR station (HKU). The only downside is it is quite close to a harbour logistic centre / motorway, so if you pick a harbour room make sure to go for the higher floors.

Excellent location for transportation (tram is 2 mins away, train station is 4 mins away) and quick local dining options.
Hotel is clean, modern with warm staff, and room was spacious and comfortable (great bed!). My only regret was not getting a room with beautiful harbor views (mine faced residential buildings). Oh, plus FREE 24 hours on site laundry!
I'd definitely stay here again!

Service is excellent and all the staff are very helpful. The cleaners are very efficient and top notch in cleaning out the room daily. Complementary laundry self serve is available on 5th floor. The ocean view takes my breath away and makes the most enjoyable out of this stay

Overall, the hotel is really nice. Rooms are spacious and well furnished and the beds are very comfy. No issues during our stay whatsoever and the location is pretty good too. Close to a lot of coffee shops and food places nearby. The only thing I wish the room had is a decent sized mirror in the room whilst getting ready.

It was a very pleasant stay. The location is good, very convenient and easy to get around . The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, the only thing I would like to suggest is to install a full size mirror in the room, then it is 10+ for me!

Nice room, great shower, friendly staff and with lots of food outlets nearby. Also easy tram or metro options to get around. The only small negative was that the air con was very loud even on the lowest setting and despite setting higher or lower temperatures, only seemed to set the room to 22C, which was just about okay for me.

amazing location on HK Island, Metro station is 5 min walk, tram station is closer, and it's easy for taxis to reach from the airport or Kowloon train station.
weird entrance - the taxi ramp is the only way in or out. friendly staff . very modern, new rooms. cleaning staff changed towels every day despite the signage that only towels in tub would be changed.
after a 4 night stay was not able to get a 2 hr extension on checkout, only 1 hr.
lots of local shops for groceries, sundries, and take out, or modest local restaurants. Starbucks within 5 minutes walk for those who need it.
for travelers that need it, there is a great and *free* laundry room, large modern machines, even detergent pods.
great king size bed if you like firm.

The only place in HK which provide customer service and the staff are all very friendly. Going the extra miles to show you the way, giving you recommendations on where to go and when the room type which i booked is unable to add a extra bed, they provide me a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room as it’s my birthday. The size of the room was great. They give kids amenities such as kids utensil and kids bedroom slipper. Only 3mins walk to MTR station and there is ding ding tram right behind which brings you to central if you wish to experience it. This hotel makes me feel at home.

Absolutely wonderful place. The concierge are the best I’ve ever come across and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a 6 month old baby with us and the hotel organised all the necessary for us like cot, bottle steriliser etc. The concierge were so helpful the entire trip, it really felt like we were VIPs - friendly, polite, helped us with everything like loading/unloading taxis, bringing our food takeouts up to our room, bringing us extra water bottles etc whenever we asked. The service was superb. It made it such an enjoyable stay. Very nice and clean room, great location. We will definitely he staying there again - thanks guys!
