This is my 2nd time staying here. So quiet and peaceful. Hosts are available by phone but stay invisible unless you need something. Enough signage so you know what's what but not overbearing "rules" plastered all over the place.

A friend and I booked a cabin, "Solitude," for the weekend, after a recommendation from another friend. There had been storms the night before our arrival that damaged the road and prevented people from driving to the location, and the owner was very communicative about the status of the repairs throughout the day. Luckily, the township made the repairs promptly, and we were still able to have our trip. They had also communicated with us prior to our trip that our fireplace was not working and would not be able to be repaired until after our trip, but they provided us with a radiator and a discount. It worked perfectly for our needs and kept us very comfortable. The cabin was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The outhouse was the same. We had a bonfire the second night. There were matches and some kindling in the cabin. A few things we would bring next time are: paper towels, and a little more kindling/Fire starters. Otherwise, the cabin had everything we needed. Hosts were available if you needed them, but out of sight if you didn't. Cabin was wonderfully cozy for an Easter weekend where Mother Nature did not cooperate: rain, sleet, snow. Maps of the grounds and trails to the lake were readily available, perfect mix of hiking the trails to the lake and reading a book in my cozy cabin for a 2 night stay. Wished I could've stayed longer.
