Thank you James for my lovely stay in your beautiful home. It is nothing short of enchanting. Stepping back in time, this place is a gem, lovingly cared for, it feels simultaneously out of this world and still homely.
The fact that I didn't have more time to truly take in the surroundings. I arrived late and had to leave early. I did take a quick walk around the grounds to take in the breathtaking tranquillity and a quick walk through the house to marvel at the interior. I really hope to return with more time on my hands.

Summergrove House is nearly 300 years old and James, owner and host, has been restoring the home for over 30 years. He has furnished guest rooms and formal areas with a curated collection of antiques and art works. This is a fabulous place to stay if you are looking for a unique experience. James prepares a generous, delicious breakfast each morning, served in the homey kitchen reminiscent of days gone by.

A beautifully restored Georgian House furnished in the period style. Very quiet location. Breakfast was excellent with homemade preserves, warm fresh croissants and eggs cooked perfectly.
James gives a great personal service and is a very interesting and knowledgeable person.
Bedroom and bathroom were clean, but other spaces could have been cleaner. Please note this is not a hotel . It is someone’s home and is run solely by James. Do not expect a hotel environment

Fabulous Georgian House in superb period garden, Lovingly restored and furnished by host. Big bedroom and bathroom, comfortable beds, quality linens etc. Delicious organic breakfast. Host very personable, extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating, also knowledgable about places to visit etc. In many ways a perfect stay.
It pains me to say it because the service was so attentive on.every other way, but the standard of hygiene was appalling. It needs a professional.clean, top.to bottom, with particular attention to bathroom.and kitchen.
