Hotel Mazarium

Ultra convenient location right over the bus center and quite near a couple of streets filled with tiny eateries.

I booked a room with terrace and the terrace was about the same size as the room. While it was nice to sit outside and chill after a day of walking around, I could have done with a lot less terrace and more room.

There was much to love about this property. It’s on the small side, not a high-rise like many of the Japanese hotels were been staying at. Great location at the Morioka bus center with many buses operating between the train station and bus center throughout the day. Room was well-appointed. Bed was firm. Great lobby space with many tables/chairs, a small jazz museum, two washer-dryers ($4 includes soap), a front desk with amenity bar and a few items for purchase (milk, coffee milk, ice cream, beer). We availed ourselves of the onsen each night we were there - fantastic. Best were the staff who were friendly, kind and couldn’t do enough for you.

Nothing to dislike.
