The location in alnmouth was excellent . Great staff .

Property needed decorating … but still clean .

Re Breakfasts: croissants and orange juice provided in room. This was fine as the nearby Deli does an excellent bacon roll. Location extremely convenient for the beach. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Would have been useful to have hotel parking but I know that's difficult if you want to stay somewhere near the beach. And on street parking at that time in September was not too difficult.

The location of The Sun Rooms is excellent, right in the centre of Alnmouth with plenty of places to eat and drink on the doorstep and the beach just a stone’s throw away. Despite being located above a pub, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was and had a really comfortable night’s sleep. The bed was very comfy, and the location definitely makes it a convenient base for exploring Alnmouth.

Unfortunately, the room itself was a real disappointment and felt very tired and in need of a complete revamp. The lampshade above the bed looked like it hadn’t been dusted in years, the paint in the bathroom was peeling, and the furniture and décor were dated and in need of modernising. The room was advertised as a deluxe room and, at £130 per night, we expected a much higher standard. I initially chose The Sun Rooms because it was dog friendly, although we ended up not taking our dog, and in hindsight I think we could have found a much cheaper room elsewhere that offered a similar location and a better standard of accommodation.

It was well situated

The room could do with some TLC. There was damp in the bathroom. The outside of the shower didn’t look particularly clean and the wallpaper was coming away from the wall near the window. The bathroom door had a very loud squeak when it was opened.
