The town itself is lovely and surrounded by nice countryside so great for the dog. However there is basically just two pubs which are friendly and dog friendly. This was all we wanted, great pubs and dog walks so were more than happy. The house itself is a great blend of old and new and loved the bright and light kitchen. Its really private and secluded but with an excellent elevated view. Old part of the house is really cosy and warm and loved it with the wood burners. We used 3 Brothers takeaway who were more than happy to deliver if you don't fancy cooking and spent too much time in The Lamb Inn which we did. Loved it. 100% recommend.
