The stables is a beautiful place to stay, comfortably accommodating four adults. The surroundings are serene and although it is attached to the main property you wouldn’t really notice. Very private. The host, Helen, has always been very welcoming and helpful whenever we have stayed at either of her properties, and went well beyond what one would expect of a host on this particular visit, which was much appreciated by us at a time of personal bereavement.
Do note that the cooker is an electric Aga, with all the special care that entails. Not really something to dislike, but be aware that it isn’t a conventional oven.
Nothing at all.

Fabulous place to spend a few days. Great base for exploring. Quirky old property which has been beautifully restored. Everything screams quality from the wonderful bed linen and such comfortable mattresses to the beautiful bathroom. The kitchen with its mini Aga equally lovely.
Nice outdoor seating area. Clear skies with lots of stars when we stayed. Host was fab. On hand if you needed her but not intrusive.
I think this may be one of the nicest places we have stayed!

Excellent space, brilliant decor and very comfortable beds. It had its own entrance and great sense of privacy. A little courtyard to sit out and enjoy the peaceful gardens.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
