The location. The excellent restaurant down the road “Hayden”. The communication of the host. Amenable house.
There were no towels, I was advised of this but I think these should be provided.

Upon arrival we had a few queries which were quickly resolved by the owner Valentine. We found her to be extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Convenient location to the centre of La Rochelle (within walking distance 10-15 minutes)
Kitchen fully equipped
Bakery just around the corner for daily fresh bread etc
Comfortable and clean
The bathroom extractor didn’t work which caused excess condensation.
Three adults staying so the plastic mattress cover on the single bed was not conducive for a good nights sleep for an adult but do understand the room would normally sleep a child.
A bedside light in the single room would also have been appreciated.
These observations did not in any way affect our enjoyment of our stay at La Mariennee.
