The cottage was attractive and had everything we needed for our few nights away. It was lovely and quiet, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, so we slept really well. Overall, it was a cosy and pleasant base for exploring the area.
There was unfortunately quite a noticeable damp, fusty smell throughout the cottage, and some areas could have been cleaner. The property is also a little rough around the edges, with scuffed paintwork and a few fittings needing attention. The main disappointment was the shower in the twin bedroom, which had quite a lot of black mould around the cubicle, so we chose not to use it. With a good deep clean and a little maintenance, this could be a really lovely cottage.

Loved the cottage it was everything we expected and more. Great location for access to Hydro Hotel where we were attending our nephews wedding. The lightness of the decoration was fantastic very tastefully decorated. Everything you needed and a lot of extras. It was lovely having the garden to sit in as we had relatives dropping in on the Saturday afternoon. Only short walk down to town using the shortcut through the car park next door.
Only downside we could have done with some notes giving some tips on highlights/suggestions of West Kilbride and possible walking tips into town as lot of Guess work. Ideally letting people know of local shop/ takeaway and possible bus or train timetables for those not driving. The lock on the inner front door needs attending to as it locked on us on 2 occasions luckily the handyman/ my partner opened it!!!
