MamaAreef made a lovely breakfast with either eggs or traditional food depending on my request. Tea, Coffee, and water are always available. There was always a plate of fruit and a glass of water served. If i couldnt finish her traditional pancakes, I brought them with me and nibbled on the during the day ! And dinner ! yum ! Fresh fish, rice and vegetables so delicious ! PapaAreef was very accommodating to my "no plans" visit to the island. He made many suggestions and made everything possible. I was part of their family during my stay and can't wait to go back !

The loud roosters are somewhat annoying. But the food and the environment cancel them out. It is very chill and safe.

De locatie: op palen gebouwde houten accommodatie. En de gastheer Arif: spreekt goed Engels en is zeer behulpzaam met het beantwoorden van onze vragen en organiseren van onze wensen. De vrouw des huizes is een prima kokkin en zorgde voor verrukkelijke maaltijden.

Om naar de badkamer en toilet te gaan moet je buitenom een trap af. Voor ons geen probleem, maar wel als je wat slechter ter been bent.

Staying here was one of the highlights of my trip to Indonesia. If you're looking for a genuine island experience, this is the perfect place. The homestay is built right over the water next to the mangroves, creating the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It feels like a place where you can truly disconnect and enjoy the beauty of island life. The owners are truly wonderful people—kind, welcoming, and they make you feel like part of the family from the moment you arrive. Their hospitality is unforgettable. They are also incredibly helpful: they can arrange a scooter, organize amazing snorkeling trips, and are always happy to help you find your way around the island and recommend the best places to visit. There is no air conditioning, but honestly, it's not needed. The sea breeze keeps the rooms comfortable, and it feels much more authentic than staying in a hotel. Bed and pillows are so comfortable. And the food... simply incredible. Without a doubt, the best food I had anywhere in Indonesia. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and prepared with so much care and love. If you appreciate authentic places, beautiful nature, outstanding homemade food, and warm-hearted people, I couldn't recommend this homestay more highly. I would happily come back anytime.
