This was an excellent property to stay in, located in the hills south of Linlithgow with views down towards the Firth of Forth and beyond. We stayed in 2 Eden, a large two-floor cottage with lots of space and all the facilities you could need. The main bedroom was comfortable and spacious, with two additional bedrooms with two single beds which we didn’t use. Two bathrooms/shower rooms are provided, along with a large, spacious living room and large kitchen with good cooking facilities. The living area was perfect for relaxing after a day’s sight-seeing. There’s also a compact laundry room if needed. Being in a fairly remote location, the moon and stars at night were worth going outside to experience, and the sunrises were lovely when the weather permitted. There’s a hot tub outside, and lots of towels are provided. The location itself is worth noting, as you are five minutes drive from Linlithgow but it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Linlithgow is a lovely town, with plenty of options for shopping and eating out. We chose Mason Belles Kitchen on our one night eating in Linlithgow and it was fabulous. It’s also very easy to get to anywhere in the central belt of Scotland, with the motorways close by. Glasgow is under an hour away, as is Stirling. We had two days in Edinburgh and opted to drive to Ingliston Park and Ride near Edinburgh Airport and got the tram into Edinburgh to do the tourist thing. You could also get the Scotrail mainline rail services if you prefer. Williamscraig Cottages consists of a cluster of refurbed and new build cottages in a secluded area. It was quiet enough when we were there despite the other properties being occupied, so there was no worries getting a nice sleep with the windows open. A truly excellent place to stay, in a great location. Many thanks to our attentive host Findlay and his doggie!

It was a little warm at times, but the location was peaceful enough to sleep with the window open, so no real worries.
