Location: away from the crowds, halfway up the slopes of Val Veny with walks from the door. But adjacent to a refuge/restaurant if you didn't want to do self-catering for every meal.
Incredibly well-equipped and quiet chalet, full of charm.
Really friendly and helpful communications from its English-speaking owner (though we only actually met her Italian mother).
A minor gripe but, being halfway up (and under the main summer chairlift), it was a 45-minute steep walk, to get to either the alp above or the valley below, before being able to start more varied hikes.
It was quite expensive, even for all its advantages.
