We had a wonderful time in Salem staying at this beautiful house! It is in a nice area and is redone. Very cozy and just enough space for what we needed.

This was our second time in an air b&b and it did not disappoint. The room was lovely. It was exactly as described. Very comfortable and quiet. Had all the comforts of home. My two kids thought it was fun and exciting. Watching the chickens out back were an added bonus. It was about a 30 min walk to downtown where all the museums are. The room is located at the top of the house. Loved that the house was built in 1880’s.

This was a cozy, spa-like retreat to come back to after each day exploring Salem. The apartment was adorable and the little touches mattered. There is a towel warmer in the bathroom, snack basket which my kids very much enjoyed in the kitchen and all the amenities you could need. I would absolutely stay here again and have already recommended it to several friends who plan to or frequently visit Salem. It is essentially on the 3rd floor of a house with a private entrance so there is a lot of narrow steps to navigate so that is something to consider before renting but we found it to be perfect. There is even a lighted sitting area under the pergola to relax. A hosts and stay!

This property is beautiful. The owners clearly put a lot of time and thought into almost every detail. There was a huge basket of complimentary snacks, bathroom toiletries,and plenty of USB ports, which were all appreciated very much. The private outdoor seating area was also a really nice touch. The towels and linens were fantastic. The owner was responsive and provided a lot of information about Salem, which was helpful during our stay. It pains me to take 2 stars off the overall rating, because this property is exceptional in so many ways. However, there was a dog barking in the home just beneath us. It yapped at all hours, waking my daughters long before anyone on vacation wants to be awake, before the sun came up. The support slats under the mattress in the smaller room were either installed upside down or they are so worn that they bow toward the ground rather then up toward the mattress (think IKEA support slats) This bedroom was used by my daughter who said it was the most uncomfortable bed she’s slept on. And, it made a lot of noise. Weirdly, the bed in the larger room was one of the most comfortable beds my younger child and I have had on vacation. It was as if we stayed in 2 different homes. Unfortunately, the primary purpose of renting on VRBO is sleep, and 2 of the 3 people in my group got very little of it. All of the bells and whistles in the world don’t make up for a poor sleep experience. Too bad, because it’s a gem otherwise.
