Hostal Leyendas

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hostal Leyendas in Leon. We were greeted warmly and check in was fast, efficient and very smooth. The staff at Leyendas are super professional, friendly & helpful. Our room was amazing! Very clean and well kept, tastefully decorated and more than comfortable. The beds and pillows are absolutely dreamy - we are still talking about how wonderful they were. Top quality stuff 🙏 Our room was generously supplied with ceiling fans over both beds and an aircon that kept us cool after a hot day in the sun. The bathroom was hygenic, in great working order. Our complimentary breakfast was fantastic- cooked to order, fresh & the best local flavours. The cook is a very talented woman in control of her kitchen - many thanks to her for a delicious start to the day 🙏 Wifi was strong in all areas. Loved the little internal courtyard area for relaxing, so lively with plants and decoration. We loved the location too- a short 20min stroll to the central part of town. We are big fans of staying in quieter neighbourhoods where locals live and found this part of Leon friendly, safe & welcoming. Supermarkets, eateries are within 5-10min walk. I wouldnt hesitate to return to Hostal Leyendas and highly recommend this peaceful accommodation to anyone looking for a quality, affordable stay while visiting Leon. Everything was fantastic 💕

Staff were very kind and helpful. Room was clean and comfy, excellent bathroom. Property was a short walk away from town centre and in a lovely quiet area.

The only thing I would say is that the kitchen doesn’t have a fridge to store food. Apart from that everything else was brilliant.

It had ac which was a benefit.

There was no soap or toilet paper. Breakfast was old food. The staff were unprofessional and rude. Had us wait until they looked over room when we checked out.

Good breakfast (supposed to be from 7:30, but it's after 8)

The rooms are very tiny, with massive stifling heat on the ground floor and a musty smell (even on the bath towel). There's very little privacy. When it came time to pay, the evening staff refused to accept the current exchange rate and imposed a "currency exchange fee" for paying in cordobas... in three weeks in Nicaragua, I've never seen anything like that. I was supposed to stay one more night, but I left for another hotel. EDIT I can confirm that the hotel used an exchange rate far above the current day's rate and explained that it was a "currency exchange fee" to pay in cordobas. Clearly, not all rooms offer a comfortable stay, let be honest.
