Lack of refrigerator since the property is not near any stores (and the restaurant had such generous portions)

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage. In allen Häusern Perfektion in der Innenausstattung, auch im Zimmer. Tolles Frühstück. Zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal. Gute Lage, direkt beim Bahnhof, von dem man aber kaum etwas hört.

From start to finish, this hotel and its employees are absolutely incredible. The location is wonderful with easy rail service to Jakobsbad/Kronberg, Appenzell, Ebenalp and more. Gonten was a great, quiet and charming town with a number of great dining options. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. They did everything to help make our stay wonderful. The breakfast was a perfect way to start every day and had plenty of options for everyone. The spa was very nice and the specific family friendly hours were so very much appreciated! We ate dinner at the Quell and truly had one of the best meals of our trip! The bar was wonderful with personable and wonderful staff. We had just the best time!! Our family room was also great! The bunk beds were awesome and our kids slept really well. The blackout curtains were very much appreciated after a long day in the mountains. We all slept the best we had anywhere on our two week adventure. After a few nights in the mountains gasthaus, we needed this experience to rest and recharge!
