Happy Marrakchy Hostel

Ibrahim was extremely helpful and knowledgable. He arranged our pick up and drop off at the airport, dinner for us upon arrival and helped us with making our time in Morocco even better! We would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Everything was lovely, pleasant, clean, and well-maintained. The hosts of the riad introduced us to Moroccan culture in such a warm and genuine way, which made the whole stay feel very welcoming and homely. The riad was also easy to find using Google Maps. Thank you once again for everything!

I really liked everything about the riad, but I have one small suggestion: it would be helpful to have some hooks or a small shelf near the sink, just to have somewhere to put my things while brushing my teeth and washing my face.

The beds were comfortable and the location was really great. The highlight of the hostel is Ibra, who was really helpful&kind during our entire stay and even in the days after we left Marrakesh. As two 20-year old women travelling alone we felt very comfortable. The rooftop is a great spot for chilling.

Overall, a lovely hostel with a great rooftop terrace. The room was adequately equipped, with plenty of power sockets and a mirror, but unfortunately no wardrobe or anything similar to store clothes. Very nice and always helpful host!

There were two main downsides. The first was the very hidden location. You are practically surrounded by teenagers insisting on showing you the way, even though you haven’t asked for help, and they become very unpleasant if they feel you haven’t tipped them enough. Groups of boys also approached us in an unpleasant manner several times right at the entrance to the alley leading to the hostel, particularly after dark. Unfortunately, this was the only way to reach the hostel. There is also no sign outside the hostel, which would make it easier to find on your own. The second downside was the towel fee of €2 per person per night. This makes even less sense considering that you are given one towel at the beginning of your stay, which isn’t even washed during that time. It makes absolutely no sense to charge another €2 every night when you are simply continuing to use the same towel.
