An oasis refuge in Lamu. The pool is the most refreshing body of water we encountered along the Kenyan north east coast.
Great position
The ambient symphony of singing in the nearby school, formed a great soundtrack to our stay

Everything in the property was nothing but the best. The house was clean. Jamhuri was absolutely amazing. The house was very spacious.
Some sockets wouldn’t charge our phones.

Really cool Arabic:Swahili style place with great decor.
The description says you have the whole place to yourself but not true. There’s a caretaker there’ almost all the time in the shared space. He was really helpful bit not great for privacy

The design looks nice and that's it.
Wi-Fi didn't work. There was no hot water. The fan in the room didn't work on my first night.
In the morning, local neighbours make breakfast on open fire under the windows and the whole room was covered in smoke. Close to the mosque - and loud calls to prayer start at 5am. It's very far away from the beach. When I booked, I didn't realised that this was the least favourite part for tourists to stay. A lot of mosquitoes. I asked for food recommendations but was told to go to any restaurant on the seafront. I wished I stayed in a different place.
