They stole my credit card form. When I checked in they swiped my credit card the old manual way for a guarantee for the room, they said that they would return it to me when I checked out. When I checked out, they lied and said they never did that, which they did, it was on camera, so I said "play the video" they refused. I got the police involved, the hotel then refused to play the camera to the police, this matter has not gone legal via the Prosecutor. The hotel has committed a very serious crime, whoever stole that form means they could steal an unlimited total, and considering they refused to play the video to me or the police, it indicates their guilt and indicates they could be doing this to many guests.

Friendly staff and really a nice room. Perfect breakfast

The hotel was in a beautiful building with friendly staff and clean facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Location is in the center of the old town.
The hotel is completely inflexible regarding date changes, even though Booking.com let me pay extra for this flexibility. I had to pay for 2 nights that I did not use. Better communication between booking.com and the hotel is needed.
Little to no sound isolation in the rooms, especially to the corridor.
The old town Bogota is currently managed as a police state environment which is somewhat shocking if one is not prepared. The old town is on a military-enforced curfew at night. You cannot go outside or come home later without passing many checkpoints and wading your way through machine guns. This is restricted to the old town...if you do not want this, sleep in a different neighborhood.

A great location in the Candelaria district, one block from Plaza Bolívar. The breakfast was very good: a generous buffet, with fresh tropical fruit and juices, baked goods, eggs, Colombian breakfast dishes, and sweets. The La Scala restaurant serves good food and is good value. The front desk staff was very helpful, with one exception (see below).
During several of the nights, there was loud noise and rowdiness (presumably in common areas; we didn't venture to check) on part of guests, that went on for hours. Calls to the front desk went did not help.
The bathroom could really use a renovation: the fixtures barely function and the water pressure in the tap is nonexistent.

lovely building, good to visit spa, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Also the room was warm - unlike Bogotá hotels with no heating.
breakfast OK but not the best

The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean.
It was advertised that the suite would come with a balcony and I did not get a balcony.

I have known this hotel for years and it was always a crucial point of my stay. 5 meters from the Opera and in the middle of the Candelaria. This time I have also had a fabulous view. In addition, this time the hotel had an excellent public relations manager, Alejandra. We had a small problem that she was able to sort out brilliantly and quickly. I complement the new generation of the hotel staff that is reaching the World standard.
Waiting time. This is getting better in comparison with the previous years but it is still a subject for improvement.
I understand the formalities but for many people coming from Europe or other continents the most important is to get the room. I accept the rules on the checking in but still the hotel always has flucutating departure time therefore more customised approach would be welcomed. In addition, I believe that water should be available for the guests if they need to wait hours and hours.

The breakfast was wonderful. Loved the central location in the Candelaria area. Beautiful old building. Nice room and facilities.
One of the receptionists wasn't very friendly or helpful - she seemed annoyed any time we had a question. So that was a bummer, but the other staff were friendly.

Location, the building and the breakfast are nice
1. Upon checkin I noticed they made a copy of my credit card - both sides. I noticed it and asked for explanations, they said it is for "security reasons" and it is their standard procedure, recommending to write a complaint to the manager if we don't like this rule.
2. The pool was one of the reasons we picked this hotel, but it was closed, they said it was in "renovation".
3. We booked and paid for the suite but was offered a standard room with no balcony. When trying to sort it out they lied several times telling us that it is the suite. This being the third strike, we got upset and wanted to leave and suddenly - booom - they found that they do have a "different suite" where we could move. This time it was the actual suite so it's even more obvious that the first one was a regular room. Be advised, this might be a scam they do to other guests as well!
Given the above, staying at this hotel was an unpleasant experience for us.

Excellent hotel, and really spacious room. Breakfast was an interesting mix of international and local (the local dishes had little explanations, which was nice). Staff were helpful.
Spa was out of action, which was a disappointment. Particularly as this was planned, and the notification was too close to the booking, to consider rearranging.

Great breakfast with a nice ambience. Very stylish hotel located on a very historical street, two blocks from the main plaza of the city. The hotel is not far away from the political heart of Colombia due to its close proximity to the Presidential Palace and Congress. The hotel offers concierge services which were much appreciated and has staff that is extremely helpful. It is also good value for your money.
The hotel is not the only place in Colombia where it is a little difficult to communicate because Colombians, for some reason, speak almost no English, nowadays the lingua franca of the world. That applies to the staff even at the hotel's reception.

Pool was closed and we were not told in advance

We stayed in one of the Junior Suites.
Pros:
1) At the center (walking distance) of major sites, museums, restaurants, etc. in the heart of Bogota.
2) Accommodating staff and service.
3) Romantic dinner options and quality dinner selections.
4) Large room and bathroom.
Cons:
1) Older building, room, and furniture. (We could hear weird noises from the ceiling each night)
2) Didn’t really enjoy the breakfast selection compared to the other hotels I stayed at in Bogota.

The sauna and pool are such a welcome after a long flight and the staff are of the highest standard.
They close the restaurant too early for my liking, but not much to complain about.

Beautiful structure. Atmospheric. Very central.
Bed was very hard. Room was not as clean as one would expect for a highly rated hotel. Compared to other lodging I took in Bogota (I tried three different locations) this was the worst value.

I would happily stay here again in the older portion of the hotel.
The front desk team and especially the sales manager (Claudia?) were exceptional.
We stayed in two rooms. The older areas of the hotel are grand, historical and pleasing.
The location is probably the best possible option in Candelaria. Safe yet in the center of everything.
The double glazing to our room in the older part of the hotel did a reasonably good job of mitigating the extraordinary traffic noise.
Unfortunately the entry doors are useless against sound in the internal courtyard or walkways. We were woken up one morning by a TV crew filming in the private courtyard area demonstrating the highly effective echo and amplification qualities of the courtyard.
I believe however that the film crew were an aberration that slipped past the management team.
We initially stayed in the renovated rooms on the seventh floor (the ‘new’ part of the hotel. There is only one central fire exit apparently leading into an enclosed basement-like area so the rooms on the 7th floor would be a death trap in the event of a fire on a lower floor.
7h floor suites (in the new area of the hotel) would be deathtraps in the event of a fire.

The location was great and felt very safe. It was close to Plaza Bolivar and to many historical sites. The room had nice tall ceilings and the service was excellent.
The bed was rather hard and uncomfortable. It was a good size, but needed a more cushioned mattress.
