The Historic Berkeley Place

We loved the private porch and the beautifully appointed and very spacious bedroom. This renovated historic home is a very short walk to downtown Staunton and is located directly across from Woodrow Wilson's birthplace and museum.

This property is beautiful and well maintained. I love the huge porches, we spent every evening of our trip relaxing on the deck and it was lovely. The hosts left little touches like a snack bar downstairs and undereye smoothing patches in the bathrooms. It’s so perfectly located we walked to dinner and shopping and only used the car one time all weekend. The beds were comfortable and the linens were soft- we would definitely book again if in the area.

Parking is not ideal but doable. The alley behind is a little tight to get to their small driveway so it’s easier just to park on the street out front.

The Berkeley Place is a beautiful guest house that was so comfortable and warm. Our suite was very well appointed with an extremely comfortable bed and a great bathroom and shower. We only stayed for one night as we were just passing through but I wish we had the chance to stay longer as it truly was lovely. It is exactly as shown in the photos and is very clear that they’ve taken great care to preserve the historical integrity of the house. The added touch of providing snacks and drinks and ice cream downstairs on the main floor is a great bonus. Overall a wonderful stay and we’d love to come back and stay for longer next time.

Nothing

Good – clean rooms, ample towels, great bed, lobby ice cream snack bar, lobby coffee bar is nice until it runs out of water.

Not so good – front door handle broken, automatic front door and room locking system are outdated, found 3 outlets in room for charging our devices, glad we brought extension cords. Suggestion – every room needs a charging station (about $30 on Amazon).
