Primavera - Castle view apartments

Fabulous location, just a short walk from the castle in a wonderful historic street, less busy than some areas of the city too. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and we were thankful for the room service part way through the stay with fresh towels and bins emptied. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen amenities were great, especially the coffee machine which we used a lot.

We did expect to eat in the downstairs cafe on one or two occasions, mainly for an easy breakfast location. However, upon arrival we noticed this was shut and it wasn’t open at all during our stay. We assume this is winter hours but it would have been helpful to know before we arrived. But this really didn’t detract at all from the stay and was just a minor thing.

Everything was excellent. The apartment was in a great location, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend it.

The only issue was that the handrail on the stairs between the living room and bedroom was very loose. It didn’t feel safe to lean on when going up or down, so the host may want to have it checked.

The apartment itself was excellent — warm, comfortable, with very good Wi-Fi, a great bed, and a beautiful, newly renovated bathroom. Once inside, we were very happy with the accommodation itself. However, there is one significant issue that I believe should be made much clearer in the listing: **the property cannot be accessed by car at all.** This is more than simply “no parking available”. The closest practical access by car was still approximately 300 meters away, uphill. We arrived in the rain with three suitcases, which made getting to the apartment quite difficult. Our parking was approximately 1.1 km away. Unfortunately, this was not only a problem on arrival. The old entrance gate to the building was extremely difficult to open — even I struggled with it — so leaving my wife there alone while I went to park the car was not really an option. As a result, on the following days we generally walked the full 1.1 km together between the apartment and the car. In good weather, that distance would not bother us, but in bad weather it becomes quite inconvenient. None of this would necessarily have stopped us from booking, but **we would absolutely have wanted to know it beforehand.** I would strongly recommend that the listing clearly states that the property is not accessible by car and may not be suitable for guests arriving by car, particularly those traveling with several or heavy suitcases or anyone with limited mobility. Apart from the access issue, the apartment itself was very good.
