The Royal Oak Tetbury

The room was good, with a big king-size bed which was comfortable. There was the added bonus of two chairs to watch TV or chat with your cuppa if you didn't want to sit on the bed.

Sadly, the breakfast was not great. My other half tried the full English, and each day, items were missing. I tried the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs one day and the vegan breakfast the next, and couldn't really eat either of them. The coffee tasted bitter, and the juices did not look or taste fresh. There was a toaster to make your own toast, which could probably do with an update as it took ages to cook but the jam was nice and so was the yogurt! Little tip, i know we are told not to peel vegetables, but when it comes to large flat mushrooms, they do need to be peeled or as in this case, they are just like rubber! Ask in advance for your mushrooms to be peeled.

Location and overall staff interaction was good, Food was good overall. Parking very good and easy access.

The room key/ lock was very hard to use and as the door is the only route out in the case of a fire the physical action to open the door is very poor. Thus unsafe especially if an older person is the guest. No wardrobe thus problem with clothes storage, especially with the standard rooms, which are small.

Everything is good and great, impeccable facilities, hospitality and kindness from all staff, Especially Rosario at the reception who is trying to help in every way possible. Thank so much, I recommend.

Location was perfect for a planned tour to highgrove. Building was very charming with great character.

Room was very airless and dimly lit. needs a ceiling fan or air conditioner. No ventilation made sleeping uncomfortable.
