Walking down to the basement i felt uncomfortable as it was dark and the key was kept inside a dark alcove. As i travelled alone it felt uncomfortable. The apartment was in a basement of the house and there was a stone floor with a drain lid in the bedroom and a door connecting the basement with the house hallway.. i could hear people on the other side of the door and also lots of noise from above me.

Loved how near the accommodation was to the venue I was working. 2 of us had plenty of space and didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The bathroom is lovely - albeit missing a bin and cup of sorts for a toothbrush. The property is located a stones throw from a lovely bar/ pub, Sainsbury, Tesco and a yummy Japanese called IZAKAYA. There are also a few charity shops if you’re into that sort of thing. On street parking is free after 5pm until 9am -so it worked for us, but bear this in mind.

The property wasn’t the most clean. The first thing I noticed was the smears and nail varnish staining on the table, then what appeared to be crushed cake in the middle of the floor (how it was missed is beyond me), then dried bake beans, then to my horror I noticed the throw and cushions on the bed; they were absolutely vile. The throw was stained, bobbled, discoloured and the scatter cushions not far better. I strongly suspect they’ve not been washed in a while and felt rather grossed out evening picking them up to move them. The glasses (pictured) were grim. Completely discoloured, had water residue inside them and were smeared with hand prints and covered in lipstick/gloss marks. The freezer door also doesn’t close, which is likely why the freezer is frozen over. Bear in mind there is a dog up stairs which will bark everytime you move the gate - knowing this, it would be useful to add a bit of WD40 to lower guests anxiety (especially at night!)

Self-contained check-in because the keys were kept in a lock box, which meant my arrival time did not impact anyone else. The location was very good -not far from plenty of local shops, Clifton Down and the Suspension Bridge. Plenty of room in the apartment, the facilities were good and the kitchen well equipped.

Stone floors throughout with a mat in the kitchen and only a very tiny rug in the studio bedroom/living room. It's nice to be able to remove outdoor shoes on 'coming home', but the stone floors made this uncomfortable and a bit grubby for socks. There were periods of noise from the upstairs apartment although they didn't last very long.

De stenen vloer was brokkelig en wat kapot dus je kon niet met blote voeten lopen. Erg gehorig. O.a. geluidsoverlast van bovenburen (hond die om 0100 ‘s nachts nog aan het rondrennen was)
