The Crossing Lodge is a hostel, after accepting this, it is great for its price. The description and photos correspond to reality, so examine them carefully to see if they meet your requirements. The directions for self-check-in were straightforward, those guests who reported difficulties did not read them carefully. I recommend you give time to read so you have no problems! There is a lounge with a pool to play in, a large dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The heating is central and hot enough, but we could control it manually through the blinds on the floor. WiFi was OK. Although we had an annoying isolated incident of bedbugs which can happen anywhere, the owner's behavior was immediate and responsible.

Although I know it is a budget hostel, it would be convenient to offer towels. Some guests do not respect quiet hours and make noise.

An old school lodge with lots to like! I enjoyed the ease of my stay. Self-check-in and clear instructions everywhere around the lodge to ensure I was comfortable. It was quiet during my trip, and the location was perfect for my travel plans. The kitchen was well equipped and made cooking easy.

The shower ate my face wash! The river of water between showers caught my tube of face wash when I accidentally dropped it. It swiftly carries it into the drain at the end of the shower stalls as the drain was the size of my fist. Warning - don’t drop anything! RIP face wash.

It was a good location, close to the walks in Tongariro. Lovely atmosphere in the backpacker with other travellors, lovely equipped kitchen.

I upgraded my room to one with a television, but it didn't work, couldn't get any tv station to go on. Was a little disappointing but still glad we got a bigger a room with a double bed thxs.
