CASADELMAR Ortigia

Exceptional property in an exceptional location near to everything you need to see in Ortegia. Lovely clean room with plenty of space for two. Clean bed linen and towels mid way through our week long stay was much appreciated as was Sicilian breakfast left for us on 1st morning. Matteo was our excellent host and was in regular contact to answer any questions.

Beautiful, spacious apartment in old building . Tastefully decorated and the bed and sofa bed both comfortable..tho latter quite tough to pull out..definitely a 2 man job! Bathroim realoy nice ajd towels plentiful Staff were really helpful..nothing was too much trouble. Two free pastry selection on first 2 mornings very generous...and delicious. Restaurant and breakfast recommendations spot on. Location really hamdy gor Duomo/ Aretusa fountain bus to Syracuse but down quiet side street. Perfect!

A pity no breakfast availablr on site and no cirkscrew in aoartment. Made making use of the pleasant roof terrace less of a plus.

Perfect location in the middle of everything, walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Apartment and roof terrace are beautiful. Pastries on the first and last day were a nice touch

On 2 of 4 days, there was no hot water, meaning cold showers....one time may be a one-off, but would've thought they would fix it after we already informed them the first time Self-Check in instructions need updating, unclear instructions meant we returned the communal key for the front gate when turns out we needed it to gain access to the apartment. We thought we were locked behind the gate which caused a bit of a panic. They were not very apologetic when we informed them Ironing facilities are locked away on the top floor, there are no signs that this is where they were, we searched high and low for an iron and eventually found it locked away (with no key). When we messaged to ask for access, they said it was too late that evening so we assumed the cupboard would be open in the morning...in the morning (10 am), it was still locked away and took hours to get a response when we asked for access. We didn't hang around waiting! After 4 days, we were still using the same towels. Would've been good to have the offer of fresh towels
