'Il Ciliegio' - Apartment in historic farmhouse in Chianti Classico vineyard
Il Ciliegio apartment (103m2) is one of four completely independent, self-catering apartments that comprise La Rota farmhouse, nestled among the organic vineyards of the Conca d'Oro valley of Panzano in Chianti. It overlooks the valley and has a charming garden area, furnished for outdoor living with a barbecue. There are two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and two bathrooms, and it can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people.
The apartment is spread over three floors. The main entrance leads from the garden into a bright, cosy living room with a fireplacewith steps leading down into the spacious kitchen and dining room equipped with electric stove, electric oven and dishwasher.
The 3 bedrooms are located on the first floor of the apartment - one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and shower affords picturesque views over the valley, and a double/twin room and a single room share a bathroom with a shower.
The first floor also has a secondary entrance from which you can easily reach the pool area.
The apartment has been renovated using the typical materials of our area, such as terracotta, chestnut and cypress wood, wrought iron and grey sandstone, and furnished with fresh, colourful upholstery that make the environment elegant and comfortable.
During the winter months the apartment is fully heated and this is included in the cost of the rental. Wood for the fireplace can be upon request with a small charge.
Il Ciliegio has its own parking area next to the entrance of the apartment. Beyond the private garden, in the grounds of the farmhouse, is the gated pool and sunbathing area which is shared with the other guests of La Rota farmhouse.
La Rota farmhouse is surrounded by the beautiful organic vineyards of the Fontodi wine estate, in the very heart of the famous Conca d'Oro valley of Panzano whose name derives from the golden sheen of the wheat grown there is the past.
The valley is south-east facing and offers spectacular views of the surrounding hills as well as the 180° sunset every evening.
La Rota is a twenty minute walk from the main square of Panzano which is a lively hilltop village at the epicentre of the Chianti Classico wine region. Panzano has many excellent bars and restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy and banks and other local shops. There is also a popular market in the main square every Sunday.
