I have been coming to Fripp for 41 years and have always stayed in Captain John Fripp Villas. They are getting way too expensive as the years progress with nothing extra. The amenity cards have become ridiculous but the most disappointing thing that happened this year was the lack of certifications needed for the pool and the pool was CLOSED and GATES LOCKED for 2 days! The main reason I rent these villas for the convenience of the pool! I could stay anywhere on the island, but I love the convenience of the pool! If the villas are going to keep going up in price, I believe everything should be taken of (certifications, repair etc...) before the vacation season starts. I realize things will get broken and have to be repaired but not having all of the correct paperwork to stay open is a little extreme! Also, the pool was not very clean this year and the deck is falling apart (literally). A few summers ago, the pool company used did a great job but not this year!I would love to keep coming back as my adult kids grew up vacationing at Fripp and they want to continue the tradition with their kids, but we may have to start going other places. I have met many people over the summers staying at the villas and met up with them this summer and we all have the same opinion! Prices too high, pool not clean, deck falling apart, grass is awful and used to be beautiful, pool being closed for 2 days was ridiculous. Thank goodness a friend had an am card so we could use another pool!

This villa is in a prime location on Fripp Island.

Location is great! Perfect space for what we needed. Host was very responsive. Note to future guests: bring wine opener. Overall, I would stay again!
