The cottage was lovely with everything you needed - part of a row of holiday cottages but very private and couldn’t hear anything from the other properties. The utility room across the courtyard was helpful as this was the second leg of our break. WiFi didn’t seem to work enough for streaming on our laptop but I was able to log in to Prime account on the TV so we could watch what we wanted. Wifi was fine for using things like facebook / google. Shops are not really local so be prepared with some supplies - the welcome treats were a nice touch. Location was lovely for walking, we stayed fairly local and enjoyed a coastal path walk accessible without having move the car, as well as the Heddon Mouth walk and Holdstone Hill and Down. The roads around here are a bit narrow and steep but you do get used to it quickly if you are not already - We’re from Norfolk so not really used to the hills!

Beautiful property in immaculate condition and very well equipped. Location is very quiet indeed. Property was lovely and cool in the heatwave but had heating if required. Skies were dark enough for us to get a glimpse of the Milky Way. The welcome scones, wine, milk and flowers were a lovely surprise and much appreciated.

Nothing that we didn’t like!

The location is ideal for a quiet break from the stress of daily life. The local scenery is magnificent, while the cozy cottage is a great place to come “home” to each day.

Nothing. However, the steep staircase would not suit the elderly or infirm.

We had an absolutely lovely stay in the smithy. We spent a whole week here. The facilities are really clean and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. In this place you can enjoy the beauty and the character of devon fully. Perfect place to relax from everyday life and just enjoy and explore nature at the ground. It is also a great starting point for many hikes, because the coast path is very near. The host Stuart is such a nice person and it was great to get to know him.
