Ullinish House

Everything about the property was amazing; location-quietly tucked away from hustle and bustle, accommodations-beautiful room with a gorgeous view and perfect decor, staff who were available but not overpowering.

Nothing

Our room was cozy and breakfast was amazing. OJ, fresh coffee, croissants, toast, yogurt parfaits,& cheese. Loved the lodge feel to the building, and the plaid carpet upon entering. And the lounge is cozy - there was even a fire lit for the guests one night.

Unfortunately it rained all day, but we still managed to get to Dunvegan & Portree for some exploring. Also the one lane roads in Skye are hair raising! But it’s truly so spectacular.

So cozy and great beautiful location

The bed was a bit small, but it wasn’t a turndown

We knew it from a trip some years ago when it was a hotel. It’s the same beautiful location and furnishings.

We didn’t realize from the description that this isn’t a hotel anymore, and unfortunately only realized this after reserving, when I got the message that there’s no restaurant, etc. They only offer non-refundable bookings so you’re out of luck by the time you make the reservation and get this message. We arrived and there’s no reception. We wandered around until we found the name of the room we were supposed to stay in because there’s no one to ask questions about where to go. It’s very far from any restaurant so we had to get snacks from a food truck up the road. Their check-in time is 5pm which is much later than other places. Some other reviewers mentioned that the hosts are nice, but I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was there. There was a tray with croissants, a boiled egg and juice at breakfast (I didn’t see any cheese as mentioned in the description.) If you’re expecting an air b&b experience, this is a lovely place for that. It’s just not what I was looking for and I wish I’d realized it up front before booking.
