Cerchia Apartments

So, I want to give a full run down on this property (because reviews have always helped me). The apartment is in a little bit of a remote location, but that's also the beauty of it because it is close to naples, pompei, vesuvius, and sorrento, solerno and all the other amalfi coast towns, and avoids touristy areas. It is on a hill and in a local area so there are gorgeous views of the surrounding areas. We discovered a little too late that there is another route from the property to the amalfi coast that avoids the busy roads (maiori, ravello and minori are only 25-30 minute drive away) and is picturesque as you go further up the mountain and then down again on the other side with a view of the sea. Honestly, we loved the location, but it definitely does require driving on all days (unless going to local restaurants or for a walk). The views are really stunning, so for that reason I'd recommend exploring the local area. Best supermarkets are in a nearby town, but there are some smaller ones nearby. The nearby town has a post office, with free cash withdrawal at the ATM or even to send a postcard. About a 5-minute walk there are a few restaurants (e.g. Sedici bistrot) in case you get hungry and the food is great. The property was very clean, the owners were very friendly and great hosts. We sadly don't speak Italian so we communicated on google translate or via messages with them, and they were kind to try to communicate with us in English. Parking is on-site in the driveway with a gate. There is also a pool you can use and the view from the balcony was truly stunning - we'd have breakfast there every morning, but also sunset views are gorgeous.

The wifi was really not great, and cellular service was not strong either. It would be next to impossible to download movies, but they had Netflix on the TV (maybe that might work, we didn't try it). We didn't mind the wifi too much, and I'm not sure if more can be done about it anyway as it is also an area issue :) Also, there isn't really a kitchen, rather a fridge, kettle, coffee machine, basic cutlery and plates and some biscuits and homemade cake (that they so kindly made). There is no sink, so you'd need to use the toilet sink to clean the dishes/fill the kettle. Another FIY: you definitely need a car for this property. The main roads are wide, but some side roads can be narrow (you likely won't need to use them though). A smaller car is better, but we had an SUV and we were totally fine.

The host was so welcoming! She even brought home made cake. She was very willing to communicate, albeit via Google Translate, and gave us some good recommendations for the area.

Alles beviel. Was wel een tikkeltje afgelegen, maar maakt het weer een rustige en ideale uitvalsbasis voor Napels EN de Amalfi kust
